Dusty Gemstone Wedding Inspiration from Local DC Artisans

If you live in DC… well, we’re a little jealous of you right now. It’s always amazing to see editorial wedding concepts crafted solely by local artisans and makers, and this dusty gemstone wedding inspiration is the cream of the crop where this is concerned. Inspired by the bold hues and rich textures of the vintage furniture, as well as the natural beauty of the stone manor, this A-team brought a thoughtful vision to life.

The moody images from Anne Robert Photography are so full of motion, fluidity and life. Just one of the many reasons we love film!

Something Vintage Rentals created designs with distinction from the coziest ceremony setup we ever did see to the candlelit table with a berry + bloom medley scattering the center.

From the stylist and planner, Something Vintage Rentals: We collaborated with local DC makers and artisans to create our dusty Gemstone shoot. We were initially inspired by the worn jewel tone fabrics found on many of the vintage pieces we collect. Our goal was to create a wedding design that would showcase the romantic details and lush colors of each of our vintage pieces. We strongly believe in handmade and that’s why we chose to work with only local makers and artisans. Because of this, we were able to have an integral role in the design and creation of each element of the shoot.

Goodstone Inn was the perfect venue to tie the different pieces together. Located an hour outside of Washington, DC, this historic stone manor and carriage house is located on 265 acres of rolling hills and countryside. Holly Chapple Flowers, was able to incorporate her floral design into the ivy-covered stone wall and create a cascading floral backdrop. She also created a stunning loose floral arrangement and various arrangements for the head table to complement the dusty gemstone color palette.

Emily Baird continued with the gemstone theme to create the invitation suite, menus, place cards, and program. She used textured paper with deckled edging and a watercolor magenta base with hints of gold foil. Buttercream Bakeshop created a 3-tiered ombre magenta cake with merlot sugar flowers.

White Hearth Pottery in collaboration with Something Vintage made the white and gold plates by hand, and Honey Silks & Co made a custom gray distressed velvet table runner for our 12ft head table and matching napkins.

Anne Robert captured the romantic details of the bride’s look on film, with a tiered dress by DC wedding dress maker Elaya Vaughn, and complemented by a href=”https://amiedeckerbeauty.com”>Amie Decker‘s soft make-up palette and tousled hair. The sunset created a dreamy atmosphere and perfect lighting to capture the couple throughout the property.
