Hacienda Destination Wedding Weekend in Yucatan Mexico
If you want to cha cha right into our hearts, then you better take note from Ida + Peter’s fun hacienda destination wedding weekend with stress level ZERO. This couple is as cute as can be to begin with, but it’s their ability to shrug off tradition with a day of their own making that has us clapping our hands. Fashion in stride and rainforest flowers abounding, you’re sure to L-O-V-E this happy day.
Moody photos are Emily Magers‘ speciality, and she is absolutely killing it with these captures of the stuccoed walls, fresh blooms and and ear-to-ear grins.
And Tasteful Tatters unleashed a Pandora’s box of everything perfect (is that a thing?) throughout the destination wedding weekend. We couldn’t help but to share a couple of the rehearsal dinner pics too!
Hacienda Temozon is the name of this luxury Yucatan hotel smack dab in the middle of a tropical rainforest. So naturally, we’re already looking for flights.
Orange and peach blooms look out from their ceremony perch to the sunflowers trailing across the aisle. And all thanks to the floral talent of Maria Limon!
We’re all abuzz about this crown from AMAROQ as well. Bold, beautiful and totally unique!
Let’s hear from the bride, Ida!
Did you have a theme or color scheme?
It was in Mexico at a beautiful hacienda so we made the whole wedding work around that. We ended up picking colours that were all around the hacienda to incorporate into the wedding. Beautiful mustard yellows, dark reds and greens.
Archive Rentals Mexico brings Parisian bistro chairs + vintage wooden tables to the South, and we can’t say we’re complaining!
What flowers were used for your bouquet and/or floral arrangements?
We used all types of antique flowers that were local. We also made sure to incorporate sunflowers down the aisle to recreate our engagement which was in a sunflower field in France.
Any advice for couples planning their weddings now?
Don’t do something that is traditional because you feel like you have to! Stick to what YOU want. I decided to leave things out that I didn’t want to incorporate (first dance, bridesmaids) and this made me and my friends a lot happier on the day.
What songs did you play at your wedding?
We had an amazing 8 piece Spanish band that had members from all over central America and danced the night away which made the wedding. I love music and made playlists for every moment of the wedding. Music really made our wedding and was a big focus to get right for us. We didn’t have a first dance but instead danced all night long with all of our family and friends.
