Whimsical Charleston Wedding Along the Avenue of Oaks
You’d be hard-pressed to find a natural wedding backdrop more idyllic than that of this Charleston wedding along the Avenue of Oaks. Yasmine and John didn’t miss a beat as they worked with the mossy greens and lakeside glimmers that played host to their outdoor nuptials, and we are loving what’s on display. You can expect garnet fabrics, whimsical patterns, jaw-dropping signage and the cutest little getaway car we ever did see, so take a seat, sip some sweet tea and stay a while. You’re in Southern charm territory now!
Greg Finck impeccably captures the glow of the day — on the couple, details and the nature itself!
Details were thoughtfully joined together by none other than A Charleston Bride who let the whimsical ideas run wild!. Just WAIT till you see Y+J’s seating chart!
A dash of sparkle from Laurie Sarah Designs in this teardrop engagement ring with a mesmerizing halo!
How cool is here off-the-shoulder gown from Temperley London with subtle polka dot texture?! Rock it, girl.
Palmetto Bloom enhanced the towering mossy oaks even further with a romantic floral arch and potted greenery in the ceremony.
The guests mingled and noshed at Legare Waring House, which is about as darling as it sounds!
From the bride, Yasmine: Although we had met many years before (John prefers I don’t go into details because he feels old, lol) we reconnected on Facebook when John was stalking me (John will differ in this) and saw I was on a family trip in Lebanon. Here I was thinking he was being all sly and trying to pick me up asking me how the country was and that he would love to visit because his paternal grandmother is Lebanese (his last names are Hernandez Vazquez, I take it you may see where my doubts come from) which of course I thought was a total pick up line. We chatted for some time during my vacation and he asked me out when I returned to “pick my brain about Lebanon”. After a few more dates, he proceeded to actually show me her Lebanese passport after numerously making fun of him.
I wanted a chic, bohemian style, I love color and wanted it to complement the beautiful greenery of the Avenue of Oaks which was our ceremony site and around the house and lake. We made sure to incorporate details that were close to our hearts and meant something to us throughout the wedding day and that when our guests saw them would know they were important to us.
