Puff paint wedding dress, say what?! It takes a lot of guts to modify your wedding gown, specially when it’s a Leanne Marshall! Bride Lauren took a step further and used gold puff paint to embelish her wedding dress. And wow, look at the results below! This super chic wedding was made light and airy with a touch of tropical as planned by Rebecca Woodland Weddings, all captured by Anne Rhett Photography.
From the photographer, Anne Rhett: Jake’s a city boy and Lauren’s a beach girl – so what more perfect place to have the best of both worlds than Charleston? Lauren and Jake were married overlooking the water in Charleston at the historic Lowndes Grove Plantation, and while their venue is historic and classic, their wedding was infused with a healthy dose of color, modernity, and youthful vivacity! As a couple, they love to travel, so they incorporated different global influences into their decor with tropical foliage and eclectic lighting fixtures.
Lauren’s dress was a showstopper: a Leanne Marshall design with cascading skirt layers and a veil that attached to the shoulders and billowed behind her like a cape! The most unique part of the gown was the fabric, which was embellished with a delicately drizzled pattern of gold puff paint. This type of paint, reserved typically for decorating tshirts at camp, was incredibly elegant in this context- and the overall effect of the pattern was reminiscent of world maps or even an aerial view of the curling inlets of Charleston’s waterways.
They channeled beach resort vibes when choosing their design and decor. Keeping with crisp whites and lush greenery as the main theme, touches of purple and sea green were added to the color palette to add some fun.The bridesmaids wore individual dresses in a variety of designs and variations on lavender. These colors looked beautiful both inside the home with its colorful pastel interior and outside with the natural surroundings. The boys wore navy and had quite a good time brandishing the custom “terrible towel” they had made to commemorate this special day and Jake’s love for his favorite sports team, the Steelers. Lauren and Jake’s dog Layla, dressed up in a flower collar, was also an important part of the ceremony.
Guests were treated to a stunning sunset, and Lauren’s cape in the breeze on the dock during it was a sight to behold! After dinner, Lauren switched into another gorgeous frock: a vintage sequined dress with pink accents, and they exited through sparklers to the afterparty!
The light and airy wedding design plus the puff paint wedding gown is almost too much for our hearts to handle! This is such a fun and unique wedding in Charleston so if you happen to be in the area or just want a Charleston bridal shower, then this one fits the bill perfectly.
