Sweet Botanical Southern Wedding with Metallic Accents
Modern and organic, this botanical wedding from MorningWild Photography, Something Perfect, and Nectar Floral Designs hits all the right notes. Morgan and Casey met at a concert, so they infused their most important day with a personalized playlist and great tunes from a local bluegrass band. We adore the metallic arch with flowers the couple exchanged vows under, and love even more that it was reused as a cake table backdrop during the reception for double the impact!
From the bride, Morgan: We wanted the weekend to feel like a big, fun loving reunion in our new city with all of our closest friends and family. The weekend kicked off at our bungalow where our close friend (who happens to be a chef!) prepared barbecue and southern staples. Casey and I met at a concert, so our love of music has naturally always been something special that we share. We knew having a live band and a personalized play list for our ceremony and reception was important. The band we found had a bluegrass vibe – our favorite type of music – it was the perfect touch.
When looking for a wedding dress, I had hoped to find something with long sleeves – even though we were getting married in June in the South! My mom has a trunk filled with hers, my grandmothers’, and great grandmothers’ wedding dresses – all being long sleeve. I thought it would be so special to keep this tradition and when I found the Hayley Paige Remington dress, I knew it was perfect!
How SWEET is this dad’s reaction to seeing his daughter all fancied up as a bride? Such a darling moment.
The ceremony included other personal touches – a Bob Dylan poem recited by my brother, Amazing Grace sung by Casey’s cousin accompanied by her playing the ukulele, and we wrote and recited our own vows which surprisingly ended up being one of our favorite parts of the day. We wanted the reception to feel cozy and romantic. I loved working with Nectar Floral Designs to implement my favorite Anthropologie lanterns with a ton of low candlelight surrounded by greens and florals. We felt all the love and happiness in the world from the beginning of the weekend to the very end and we can’t imagine our wedding day any other way!
