Glam Downtown Philadelphia Wedding
Caitlin and Dave found love with each other in the city of brotherly love, so it’s only fitting their wedding would not only take place in the city, but pay homage to its beauty. This primarily came in the form of panoramic views of Old City and the Delaware River waterfront straight from the reception space, captured by Henry + Mac and trimmed to the nines by Confetti & Co and Oleander. We’ll let Caitlin take it from here:
From the bride, Caitlin: Dave and I met in Philadelphia, and it has truly become part of our love story. We were engaged on December 13, 2014, and, of course, I hit the ground running with wedding planning. We really wanted to highlight Philadelphia, the city where we fell in love, and I knew that Sara Murray of Confetti & Co would be the perfect person to help us make our vision a reality. I previously attended a wedding that Sara planned and styled the previous summer, and I was thoroughly impressed by not only the beautiful details, but how seamlessly the event ran. Dave and I immediately clicked with Sara and her team, and I knew that our wedding was going to be extraordinary.
We selected April 29, 2016, as our wedding date, and I started to envision the way I wanted our big day to look and feel. For the reception venue, we wanted something unique, something classically beautiful, and something that highlighted our city of brotherly love. The Down Town Club checked all of those boxes. The stunning panoramic views of Old City and the Delaware River waterfront of Philadelphia, the gorgeous ballroom, and its fabulous food, blew us away. Once I described the overall look and feeling that I wanted to achieve with our floral design, Sara immediately suggested Cynthia of Oleander. I wanted a warm, romantic event that highlighted lush spring florals, with a contemporary yet textured look that was sophisticated and also organic and approachable. We took a tour of the downtown club together and Cynthia was bursting with inspiration. We ultimately decided on a delicate and crisp spring floral pallet of white, cream and ivory, with subtle touches of champagne, pale blush and buttercup balanced with apple green, washes of pale watercolor blues, and organic blooming spring foliage.
The fantasy we dreamed for our wedding was absolutely achieved. Every detail came together to form the most beautiful family centered event, and the room was bursting with love and joy. It truly was a special and memorable day, one that we will cherish forever. Thanks to all who shared our momentous occasion with us. You will never know how much love and joy we felt the entire wedding weekend. We will spend the rest of our lives together spreading that love and joy back to each other and to the countless friends and family members who shared our special day.
