Modern Metallic Wedding Inspiration

This wedding editorial by Kate Touzel Photography has fab written all over it. Designed by Forever & a Day Events and Design and floral creations by Damsel Floral Co, this shoot blended classic and bohemian elements with modern, geometric twists. Taking a further look at the beautiful photos, just the simple addition of muted tones like mauve and burgundy add in a darling dash of vintage. It’s incredible how such different styles blended so well!

From the event designer, Forever & a Day Events and Design: I was inspired by the classic bride, who captures a timeless aesthetic, and by the bohemian bride, who captures a whimsical aesthetic with touches of structure. I fell in love with the peacock accent color and added the mauve and burgundy to really make it pop!

My vision for the tablescape came to life with the textured runner and mixing of metals in each place setting. I also wanted to add a bit of structure, so I brought in the brass geo terrariums for the florist to style with blooms. The backdrop was a work of art created by myself and the florist who brought in the whimsical portion. The florist did a beautiful job with creating a bouquet that captured my vision! The texture and color of the blooms contrasted perfectly with the bride’s gown. The cascading style also encompassed the style of the shoot as it was an extension of the centerpiece used in the tablescape. The headpiece the bride wore was unique as it was a bold accent piece instead of a floral crown. One of my favorites was the boutonniere! Its daintiness made an impactful statement without taking away from his attire. The dark blooms and bowtie paired nicely with the white and gray canvas.

This shoot was so fun and challenging as the couple had never met! I’d say they did a pretty good job of convincing us that they had! Us, as vendors, created a story for how the couple met; attending the same university, they each had a late night studying for exams during finals week. The groom started a conversation in the coffee line and the rest was history!
