San Francisco City Hall Wedding

San Francisco’s City Hall might just be the cream of the crop of wedding venues. Chris and Jung wisely chose to reserve the fourth floor of the building for a Monday afternoon ceremony, and were treated to some seriously gorgeous architecture. We love this bride’s sweet purple bouquet, and of course all of Jessamyn Harris wonderful images! Don’t miss the rest of the photographs in the gallery.

From the photographer: Jung and Chris were friends for years before they started dating – but once they did, they realized very quickly that they wanted to spend their lives together, so I believe it was about one year from first date to wedding. They were married on a Monday morning at San Francisco City Hall – they rented a section of the 4th floor in that amazing building, with gorgeous natural light pouring in and lots of history and romance surrounding them. Then their guests walked over to a restaurant in Hayes Valley, Absinthe, for a private luncheon and cake.

Jung took care of lots of the details and planning herself, and they stuck to a budget and DIY aesthetic. I was amazing at how fabulous, lovely and fun it was, while keeping very true to themselves and their goals for their wedding. Perfect!

From the bride, Jung: The month we picked between my birthday and his birthday (March and May), eliminating any possibility of one celebration combining either of our birthdays with our anniversary… We had 3 months to plan our Monday afternoon wedding and I think that was the perfect amount of time. Any more time and I think I would have been stressed with unnecessary filler-projects. Not too long and not too short… just enough time to get everything ready while still being excited and quickly going through the planning process because the clock was ticking.

  • This wedding looks fantastic. I adore the flowers and dress. The groom looks fab too and the pics are so quirky. It looks like everyone had a lot of fun.

  • What a great series…the one of her twirling makes me smile though.

  • Oh wow, what a gorgeous gorgeous wedding – everything about it is so lovely. Love the setting and the high ceilings, absolutely divine.

  • They are the cutest!! I love, love her dress, love his suit/shoes. What a fun wedding Jessamyn – just lovely!

  • LOL That’s the EXACT same dress my bride wore when she got married at SF City Hall in December too. We did shots in all those same places. The pics are still up on the front page of my blog; I was late in posting them. LOL Lovely dress, popular too apparently!

  • Okay, I was TOTALLY wrong. THat’s not the dress. LOL (Now i’m laughing even harder.) But I know this dress!!! I know it! How do I know it?! Did I shoot it, or did I see it somewhere else on another famous post?!! Oh, this is going to drive me nuts now!

  • me:
can we drink champagne in the morning before your wedding?
like they do in white people movies?
i am very disappointed that my first wedding is nothing like those
movies with those crazy brides and strippers
    thanks a lot.

    Jung: PUAHAHHAHA
    you are such a dork
i can’t WAIT til your friends start getting married
then you will truly appreciate your drama free sister
i will wait til then for my showers of thanks and praise

  • Cute couple and such an amazing venue. If I were in the US I’d really want to shoot a wedding here

  • I love San Francisco City Hall weddings. Been there so many times. This is such a unique place to get married. I love this particular wedding which has been put together by a very creative couple. Bridal bouquet is very unique and cake is lovely.

  • I’m curious: how did they reserve the 4th floor? Also, did they rent chairs for the ceremony? I’m also doing a SF City Hall wedding. PS-did they rent chairs?

  • Simple and elegant. I love the setting and the fact that it’s in San Francisco. And the photos are beautiful.. Literally my dream wedding!
