Backyard Atlanta Wedding with Marsala Accents
There’s just something so truly, completely, and utterly romantic about backyard weddings. Perhaps it’s the intimate setting, the wonder of being surrounded by nature, or even just how cute they always seem to be — whatever the reason, they continually bring a smile to our faces. Caroline Lima Photography, Evermore Weddings and Events, and The Funky Shack Weddings and Events worked their magic on Ginger and Daniel’s wedding day, and the result is – you guessed it – pure romance!
From the bride, Ginger: We got married in our backyard and wanted a warm and inviting celebration with our family and friends. And we couldn’t forget the dogs. We wanted to share some of our favorite things and food with our guests. Gulf Coast Grill did an amazing job with our appetizers. They shucked fresh oysters and even fried pickles during the event to make sure it was perfectly crispy. And since backyard celebrations and barbecue go hand in hand, Heirloom Market BBQ, whose BBQ we love, provided our dinner menu. Finally, our cake and mini peach pies were made by Gabriel’s Desserts. Black Tie Services provided a group of very professional and friendly waitstaff to help us serve our family style dinner. We bottled Heirloom’s BBQ sauce and paired it with Georgia Peach and Vidalia Onion hot sauce from David’s Produce and Country Store for our wedding favors. We also bought cigars to share with our guests from J’s Cigars & Coffee House. J’s is owned and operated by one of the friendliest people we’ve ever met and his shop has a large selection of cigars.
We are so grateful to all our vendors who helped make our wedding so memorable for us. Jennifer Nieman was our hair and makeup stylist. She was able to handle the needs of both moms and grandma and did a fabulous job. Our photographer, Caroline Lima, has a large portfolio of work that captured personal and endearing moments in such candor and beauty; but what drew us to her was her genuinely nice personality. DJ Dre was the same – just look at his smile on his website. He was able to get people dancing, which is was not an easy feat given the age range of guests – from kids to our grandparents.
We were so fortunate to have found The Funky Shack. From our first meeting with Dawn and Jennifer, the sisters behind the creativity and beauty of their designs, we knew that they were wonderful people with so many ideas they could barely finish their sentence before jumping to the next idea. We gave them photos and ideas of what we wanted the flowers and decor to look like and they took it to the next level with their personal ideas and details. And as great people know great people, The Funky Shack led us to Nicole Ayers from Evermore Weddings and Events, our day-of coordinator.

From the photographer, Caroline Lima Photography: What an amazing backyard wedding in Atlanta! So many laughs, joy, giggles and happy tears! Also super cute dogs! Ginger and Danny celebrated their big day at their home, surrounded by their family, best friends and pets! They chose cranberry and slate blue as their color palette, the flowers were exquisite and having the wedding on their backyard gave a super intimate feel for the day. After photographing many weddings with dogs, I think they had a brilliant idea when they hired a professional walker to get their adorable pups very tired before the ceremony. Dogs tend to get excited when they see so many potential friends and making sure they are well exercised is a great way for the day run super smooth.

Such a beautiful and cozy looking backyard wedding : ) I love the wedding colors also! Awesome photos!!!
Love how the flowers just drape down their wedding cake!
I was just going to comment on the cake as well. I love the tone on tone lacing with the layered florals. Together they create an amazing level of dimension and detail. RR
May I ask where you got the Mutual Weirdness sign? I am looking for something similar for a gift. Thank you.
