Vintage Barn Wedding
Today is the official kickoff for our DIY Contest, and there are so many entries to share! To warm you up for the DIY Festival, I’d like to share this wedding sent by Sharon of Sharon Taylor Designs. This Missouri wedding is the epitome of a DIY wedding done right. Hannah and Evan chose The Loft at Keith Farms in Ash Grove as the perfect backdrop for their vintage countryside wedding.
 
A little bit from Sharon, the designer behind it all: “This sweet countryside wedding could not have touched me more. I was fortunate to have worked closely with my cousin, Laura Key. We worked together through out this last year year and frequented many garage sales and even trash piles…(yes, we do that on occasion). She and her husband, Brett poured more love and labor into this wedding than I have ever seen before on such an event – Brett hauled their family piano all the way to Ash Grove for the ceremony so that their oldest daughter, Chloe, could play at Hanna’s wedding – her sister. Absolutely beautiful details! The layering is very nice and I love how they used non-matching chairs and patterns….very different but everything looks and works very well together.

All the details are just superb! I really like they way they built a stepped platform for the goodie table. Excellent idea for creating layers and visual interest. Somebody (somebodies!) with true creative vision worked on this wedding.

This Wedding looks like it was so much fun! The colors are so well put together and judging by the decorations, it looks like alot of time and effort went into creating this spectaculor occasion!

I only found ONE problem in the entire event….I wasn’t there!!! I wish I could have seen your guest’s expressions and felt the atmosphere. I’ve always felt that the farther away from the “norm”–the better. I use the equation: One event, minus “the norm”, plus fun, plus guest participation, equals an experience of a lifetime! GREAT WORK, you guys!
