Chicago Salvage One Wedding
Every time I see a wedding at Chicago’s Salvage One, I fall more and more in love. This time, it’s captured by Olivia Leigh Photographie and decorated to perfection by Big Day Easy and A Stem Above. Keep reading for more from Leanna about her wedding day vision:
From the bride, Lennea: Kyle and I have always loved vintage and salvaged items. His escape is reading and mine is craft. So we definitely wanted handmade touches and literature involved. While we now live in California we will always love Chicago; where we met and fell in love. A great mix of urban grit and neighborhood gallery.
We knew we wanted Salvage One for the reception. A warehouse full of salvaged antiques that we used to roam many years before. For a soft romantic touch we used creams, pinks, and soft grey with a few highlights or creamy yellow. I hand-stamped the escort cards and table markers. I also used a Gocco printer to make the bookmark save-the-dates. We wanted the ceremony and reception to be as personal as possible. One of our dearest friends married us and we had such a special experience developing the ceremony including a ring warming and choosing meaningful poetry to include.
Any advice for couples planning their weddings now? No matter what, the day of, just let go of all your worries. It is such a meaningful experience and should be full of joy! We couldn’t believe how fast it all went and how much fun we had! If you have a lot of vendors or details, I found that a day of coordinator took all the stress off me and my ladies!

Wedding Music:
First dance: “The Very Thought of You,” Billie Holiday
Music is one of Kyle’s obsessions so we had many favorites. Dustin from Style matters worked with us to exhibit our eclectic taste and we included “Kiss Me On the Bus” because we met on a bus! Our ceremony music was largely based on suggestions from the organist because we were not as familiar with Organ appropriate tunes.

What gorgeous wedding photos and what a beautiful venue. My favourite photos are the one by the large window with hanging stained glass as well as the one of them framed by the stone arched window. Beautiful.
