Change of Seasons Fall Wedding Inspo with Ombré Details
The Midwest is the place to be if you love fall. The change of seasons happens virtually instantly there, with an ever-changing scenery with fleeting perfect weather moments. This is not of your typical fall wedding inspo. The change of colors during this season is beautifully interpreted here with a sweeping ombre floral centerpiece and deep red accents to anchor the mood, all styled by Elena’s Garden Floral Design and Event Planning and captured Sally O’Donnell Photography.
From Carla, of Elena’s Garden Floral Design and Event Planning:
When you live in a place like Chicago you become very aware of the seasons and try to live to the fullest those fleeting “perfect weather” moments. With this inspiration shoot, I had an idea to try to capture those days we wish will last longer, the lingering warmth of late summer, early fall when the weather hasn’t yet changed but there are signs of the progression all around us … the in-between seasons. The progression can be seen through the ombre effect of the floral design morphing from soft blush summer blooms to the rich rusty and berry tones of fall. The effect of the foliage is also meant to do the same where it incorporates both summer greens and more fall like branches that signal the changing of the season. The bride’s attire, and makeup, hair again blend the two seasons beautifully as do the summery cocktails and table design, and the abundance of the warmth of the lighting. The venue was a natural choice because it offers both the most beautiful back-yard backdrop, as well as a warm inviting indoor space with many unique details.
In Chicago, the days are getting shorter and color palettes are getting darker. To show how to evoke this transition from brighter colors and days to darker days, we put together this ombre sunset shoot. We decided to do this shoot primarily at night as so many weddings in the fall end up being darker and moodier than summer weddings.
