Idyllic Floral Wedding Inspiration

Juli of Juli Vaughn Designs is back with us to share another shoot inspired by one image! This time, she brought on the talents of Haley Sheffield to create a shoot around this image on Pinterest. Read on for more as Juli explores how to create an atmosphere from an inspiration image:

From the stylist, Juli Vaughn: Haley Sheffield is an incredible photographer. She has been blessed with an eye for composition and light that never fails to create joy when one views her images. I was delighted when she asked me to come alongside Jamie of Julia’s Poppies Design to help style her rebranding photo shoot. I knew it would be a lovely chance to showcase inspiration being brought to fruition.

Being the visual artist that Haley is, she already had an image that inspired her when she came to me. It is the main image from Claire Pettibone’s Fall 2013 collection – featuring a dreamy laurel wreath framing every model making her way down the catwalk. The shot has an idyllic, ethereal feel to it – a feeling we pinpointed when creating our list of inspiration buzzwords: Idyllic, Soft, Fluffy, Ethereal, and Floral. Every detail from this shoot stems from those words. Every piece we chose – from the blooms to the gown from The Sentimentalist – is consistent with those words.

So, step one. Choose your inspiration buzz words. Choose the words that embody the feeling you want your event to promote. Ask yourself, “What do I want my guests to say my wedding felt like?” Stick to those words like you would to a strong gut feeling. They represent the things you truly love and will help your wedding look just like you.
