1940s Engagement Session
This darling session was sent to me by Andi, the designer behind this sweet 1940s inspired vintage engagement session. I am loving the paper garland and pinwheels backdrop hanging over a branch. And the vintage bottles with a small chrysanthemum in each of them. And Nisse’s red lipstick. And..ok, I will stop so you can look at the images.
From Andi, the Designer:
I styled and designed the photo shoot for Nisse and Aarde. They wanted a unique and organic setting with a vintage touch and hint of glamour. Photographer Jonathan Roberts and I decided on this gorgeous and whimsical setting which is in San Luis on the Cal Poly campus next to the creek. Nisse and Aarde are truly a vintage couple in style – she was so sweet and he so chivalrous! Just a pleasure to work with!
Both Event/Floral Designer Andi Cummins (phone:805.540.1967, email: andi.cummins at gmail.com) and Photographer Jonathan Roberts from BluePhoto are based in San Luis Obispo, California. Jonathan Roberts, however, will travel worldwide and you check out his blog here.
They’re so adorable! I love the hanging paper strips…they should totally carry some of these details through in their wedding decor too. Everything is beautiful!
They look like they were a fun couple to photograph! Despite the staging, it still has some genuine feel to it. The decoration and photography is amazing!

It feels like “The Long Hot Summer” to me. And who doesn’t love that?!

She is a perfect vintage bride to be! Way to go you two!
This is such a great shoot with the props and theme!!
cute couple, great light, and sweet props. soda bottle, pastry heart, and paper stars are all my favorites!
I love the picnic theme, but I’m probably biased because my fiance proposed to me when we were having a picnic 🙂
Also, the colors in the photos with the oranges are gorgeous!
Aw, they’re so cute! Love the way she dresses. The photo beneath the orange trees is my favourite.
