Vintage Ring Boxes

Two years ago I talked about vintage ring boxes and became obsessed with them ever since. They come in a variety of materials and shapes, like these dainty blue Bakelite boxes, or a more rustic looking in old vinyl or in antique sterling silver. The inside is just as beautiful covered with velvet fabric in complementary colors. Also, the gold filigree ring boxes reminds of Marie Antoinette (a la Sofia Coppola). Just precious!

Just found my ring box the other day, it was sort of tossed aside in the engagement excitement. Love this post – these antique boxes make my heart melt!

my husband proposed with a vintage ring in the very same box that is shown in the upper right…i didn’t even know such pretty ring boxes existed until then. i ended up buying tiny matching boxes for our wedding rings; they seem more special than the typical velvet boxes you get nowadays!

I am absolutely in love with these. I had never seen any vintage ring boxes before, and I suppose I imagined they always came in a little wine-colored velvet box like they did in the 90′s. Thank you so much for opening my eyes to these delightful pieces. I will definitely be scouting around for one of my own!

WOW–these are gorgeous! Instead of a proper jewelry box, can I just have bunches of these scattered across my dresser, each with its own treasure?

I absolutely LOVE the ones on the 2nd row; however, I went to “Leader of Men” and found out that they don’t actually sell the ring boxes. Leader of Men simply sells the rings that are featured inside the boxes. The ring boxes were simply a unique find at an antique store that they came across. Just wanted to let others know in case they were trying to find info on buying them.

I have a cream one like the first one you posted – the blue one. It was a ring from my grandfather to my grandmother when she graduated high school in the early 40′s :) Thanks for sharing! Beautiful finds. xo

These vintage ring boxes are fabulous! I especially love the bakelite box. This is a great way to make your proposal even more special and unique, or just a great way to store your ring when it’s not on your finger. Your wedding ring, being a very special ring, deserves a very special box!

These boxes look both posh and classic at the same time. Companies should actually be designing such packaging as it suits the product.
