We know you Ruffled brides will waste no time selecting the best vendors for their weddings, and OF COURSE, their wedding dress. The choice is never easy, which is why we try to offer you a bit of guiding light so you can enjoy every second of your engagement. Sophia Tolli is an award-winning designer with Mon Cheri Bridals, and today we are unveiling her p-r-e-t-t-y Spring 2017 collection!
The French Riviera served as Sophia’s muse for this collection, and its classic romanticism is embodied by dramatic sillouhettes and soft tones of blue, alabaster, blush and gold. Each gown is finely curated with the most exquisite details and impeccable fit. From sparkling Swarovski crystals to layers upon layers of lace, your Sophia Tolli gown is sure to have jaws on the floor. And if you’re wondering how the natural lift of these gowns is accomplished, Sophia employs the use of sequin tulle layers for that miraculous voluminous effect.
We truly could not be more impressed by the variety of designs – we’re talking ball gowns, A-lines, mermaids, trumpets AND slim sheaths. Some of our favorites have to be Harriet, which features an dreamy skirt that looks lighter than air, and Felicity, whose three-quarter length sleeves practically sing European couture. But we can’t forget Mimi, whose illusion back is defined by a sophisticated zipper trimmed with diamante buttons.
Completely affordable and unbelievably fashion-forward, it’s about time we all explored more of these stylish treasures. Now be sure to visit Mon Cheri Bridals’s site directly to see where these stunning Sophia Tolli gems are being featured nearest to you!

The theme of the day was Indian Summer – a fusion of rich colors and bohemian elements that seem to go so effortlessly at this time of the year. From the circular ceremony layout to the geode table numbers to the eclectic cake trio, we think it looked pretty sweet. Other highlights include the delightfully delicious cookie bar and trolley car that gave a subtle nod to the South. Let’s dive on in!

New wedding dress lines always get us so giddy, we must confess. We anticipate each creation with excitement and we fawn over the latest trends in the wedding fashion world that get brought to life through the dresses. With a full retail line that appears in bridal boutiques throughout North America, Pure Magnolia Gowns has heaps of goodness that will suit the taste of every bride, from a traditionalist bride to a bride seeking modern and sleek.
The wedding industry is constantly evolving and the same goes for wedding dresses. Pure Magnolia Gowns stayed on top of the styles and we’re so impressed by all of the different variations. They’ve not only paid attention to the sartorial trends, but the creator of Pure Magnolia Gowns, Patty Nayel, says they’ve been supremely inspired by the real brides that often head to them for wedding dresses. The two big trends this season are dress separates and peek-a-boo gowns. Both styles are gaining speed amongst designers and brides alike. With Pure Magnolia Gowns’s unique and modern bridal separates, brides are loving the ability to mix-and-match tops and skirts (and colors!) to create the perfect bridal look.
For the brides on the hunt for something more show-stopping and skin showing, Pure Magnolia Gowns also has peek-a-boo gowns; with these lovelies, you get a chance to show off while still looking ultra-elegant.
Fun patterns and prints, dreamy lace, and luxurious fabrics are other must-see and must-have trends for the latest wedding dress collections, and Pure Magnolia Gowns certainly didn’t hold back from them! Watch out for their soft, simple, and feminine looks paired with sumptuous lace and other rich fabrics, along with their dresses gussied up in striking gem-colored prints and floral prints.
We love that Pure Magnolia Gowns has a “sky’s the limit” attitude when it comes to their dresses and not only do their designs think outside of the box, but each beautiful wedding gown is made of materials that are sustainable and ethically-sourced. Visit their website today to stay up-to-date on their latest collection news. Don’t forget to check out their current styles!
Now that you’re forever in love, prepare to be forever entranced. Pronovias is back with two new bridal collections, Atelier Pronovias and Pronovias 2017, featuring everything from emerald green gemstones to Valentina gauze to Chantilly lace. Shot in picturesque gardens of the French Riviera, these luxe gowns have truly set the stage for the bridal trends of 2017, and we are delighted to share them with you today!
Delicate and daring, we’d be remiss to not share with you an inside look at these statement pieces. Step into Pronovias’ world of exquisite beauty, as you watch the gowns in motion:
The concept is simple: Contemporary elegance meets comfort and beauty. This contradiction is made possible through mermaid sillouhettes, side slits, detachable overskirts and other simple lines that create a harmonious balance. Though they can be described as minimalist, these gowns are hardly lacking. Crisp lace is a theme throughout, creating timeless looks that even Grace Kelly and Kate Middleton would fawn over. Light fabrics of crepe, taffeta, chiffon and gauze work together to give the gowns cohesive dimension and life – totally twirl-worthy!
It’s impossible to decide what we love most about this collection. Going beyond the layered fabrics, Pronovias has incorporated subtle elements of sophistication to each and every gown- feathers, silk thread, sequin appliqués and delicate beading, just to name a few. These embellishments are the perfect emphasis for the not-to-be-forgotten back. Though the gowns could rest on these hand-crafted details alone, they don’t stop there! Pronovias has artfully blended fabrics in soft pink, vanilla and green to create shades of white that exceed our wildest dreams.
Can you say haute couture? Don’t miss the chance to adorn yourself with one of these captivating looks that can be viewed in their website. For more information on details + locations near you, be sure to visit Pronovias’ site today!

What would a Best Of list be without mentioning our favorite wedding fashion from 2015? This year saw so many goodies, it was all but impossible to narrow down our list of favorites and most popular images from Pinterest and Instagram. In no particular order, here were the bridal and bridesmaid dresses that truly shone this year:
The illusion lace details on the Yaki Ravid gown from this wedding photographed by Taylor Lord were stunning a million times over!
The bohemian style of this bride and groom wowed us — photography by Erich McVey, wedding dress and cape from Shareen Bridal, veil by Julie Harris Designs, headpiece by Erica Koesler, groom’s jacket by Rock & Roll Religion.
This past weekend, Pronovias invited us to attend their first NYC runway show, and we honestly couldn’t be more thrilled to see their 2016 Collection in person. As always, Pronovias is on the cutting edge of wedding fashion with a selection of couture gowns that are positively blowing us away. Just wait until you see the pieces with illusion lace — our jaws hit the floor.
Pronovias is a family company that started in 1964 in Barcelona. This Spanish label is available in 105 countries and launches two collections every year. Atelier Pronovias, the gowns you see in this collection, is the Haute Couture line worn by top models including Karolína Kurková and many other Victoria’s Secret models last April at the Barcelona show.
Pronovias’ Flagship store (all 5 floors of a building in Midtown!) and headquarters is in New York City, and it has over 500 bridal boutiques that carry the label. The 2016 collection has 30 gowns, with romantic and sexy silhouettes with illusion bodices, French and Chantilly lace, mikado silk, crepe or brocade that give these gowns an airy and ethereal look.
These sexy, lace dresses are inspired by lingerie with a touch of Hollywood glamour from the thirties and forties. These Great-Gatsby inspired gowns play with strategically placed sheer panels, beaded tulle and embroidery creating the most delicate sleeves, neckline and back. This Spanish household label is quickly being adopted by brides beyond Spain and across the globe. Pronovias has 7 logistic centers worldwide to ensure the process to finding the gown you want is smooth until you have it in your hands. Their attention to detail and precision you see in these gowns carries throughout the company.
We love seeing weddings that are a long time in the making, and Renata and Aundrae went on their first date in 2005. Nearly a decade later, the couple exchanged vows in Toronto with the help of photographer Boyfriend/Girlfriend, wedding planner/designer and reception florist Melissa Andre Events, and bouquet florist Blush & Bloom, choosing a wedding theme inspired by Dolce & Gabbana’s spring/summer 2014 campaign. I dare you to find a more fashionable couple!
From the bride, Renata: From day 1 we knew we didn’t want anything typical so when we met with our wedding planner, she presented the most perfect inspiration: Dolce & Gabbana spring/summer 2014 campaign and we were instantly sold! The rich golds, warm reds, blacks and hint of blue when combined, made something so dreamy!
Warm. Romantic. Inviting. Rich textures. Fashion forward. Our wedding reminded me of a modern Spanish cathedral – it took place in a church (built in the 1800’s) so that speaks for itself. Melissa & her team modernized it with the gorgeous Christian Lacroix wallpaper as the table top and modern elements throughout. One of our favorite elements we added was the custom drawn caricature – we both love soccer and have played for almost all our lives, so having both of us drawn in our wedding attire, wearing soccer cleats, was an obvious choice.
For the ceremony, we had an arch made up of rucus foliage as well as hanging amaranthus. My bouquet was very important to me – I really wanted something I had never seen before and so different. My friend Becky is beyond talented – I sent her an image of the protea flowers and I knew I had to have it. How it turned out was better than I imagined! Our floral arrangements at the reception were a mix of garden roses, peonies and anomones.
Any advice for couples planning their weddings now? My advice for couples planning their wedding is to stay calm and try not to get caught up in it. I found the process can easily get stressful and frustrating – especially costs and budgets. Pick whatever is most important to you, and eliminate things you could live without. In the end, as long as you get married, the rest will fall into place.

Music was a huge thing for us! We both love music and different genres, and knew that music is the one thing to get people going! For our ceremony, we had a single violinist so it was so romantic and beautiful and we wanted him to play Ave Maria as it means so much to us. The cocktail was inspired by Frank Sinatra with a mix of soul, Motown and jazz.

One of the best aspects of this wedding blogging gig is having an excuse to look at gorgeous wedding gowns all day. The incomparable Truvelle has just released their 2015 bridal collection, and it’s an absolute winner. Blush Wedding Photography took the reins behind the camera for the shoot, and the resulting images are purely breathtaking.
We’ve been big fans of wedding dress designer Claire Pettibone for years now, so when we heard the designer was introducing a line of more affordable yet equally gorgeous bridal gowns, we could hardly contain our excitement. Laura Gordon Photography captured the stunning pieces on film, and we have to admit we’re having a difficult time picking a favorite.
Designer Claire Pettibone has built a career making brides’ dreams come true, but if her couture collection is a bit out of reach, or if you just want a more understated, low-key vibe for your special day, she has created some very romantic ways to say “I do.” “After countless love-letters from brides who adored my collection but didn’t quite have a couture budget, we felt it was time to launch ‘Romantique’,” Pettibone explains. “It was really important to me and our company to make this collection with quality and integrity, so we chose to keep the production at home here in Los Angeles. ‘Romantique’ has a relaxed elegance so that a bride can really make it her own. I love that our brides don’t fit into a “type” and that my collection seems to attract the coolest, anti-zilla, girls you would totally be friends with,” says the designer.
The collection includes a mixture of flowing silhouettes, feminine off-the-shoulder sleeves, delicate embroidered lace, and signature stunning backs. Graceful and ethereal, Claire Pettibone ‘Romantique’ features understated, elegant gowns priced from $1,500 to $2,800, perfect for your own love story.
About our Groom: Skipping down the Instagram rabbit hole, I came across this gorgeous bearded man… I’ve actually never really been into beards, but wow, this guy is handsome! Flash-forward to a few months later, we decide to photograph our Romantique collection with a “groom” to really tell the whole love story, which after all, is actually the point of a wedding! I reached out to some men’s model agents, and I think I actually gasped when I saw Christopher Millington as one of the gentlemen the agent was sending to our casting! So he shows up, completely charming in a not-trying-to-be-charming way… with a Scottish accent… oh, come ON! And, there you go… we found our Romantique groom. We would love to hear about your groom! Tag him #romantiquegroom, and you can follow ours @chrisjohnmillington. Of course, we can’t wait to see YOU in your Romantique gown #romantiquebride #clairepettibone.
We couldn’t be more thrilled to bring you Carol Hannah‘s 2015 bridal collection, and here’s why: it’s full of so many unexpected delights that we nearly had to pinch ourselves just to get through it. With its unexpected patterns, hues, and materials, this is one collection you certainly won’t want to miss!
Truth be told, I don’t know that I’ve ever seen a Sarah Seven gown that hasn’t completely stolen my heart. The talented designer is back with a collection of gowns (and rompers!) that will set your heart racing, and one that will make it nearly impossible to choose a favorite. These gowns are hitting stores early next year, so keep an eye out for them! View the gallery here.
Next up on our tour of Fall 2015 bridal collections is the impeccable California-based Winnie Couture. The gowns are everything you could hope for in a bridal line – elegant, luxurious, sophisticated, and just plain gorgeous to look at. We particularly love the unexpected pop of aqua lace in one of the gowns!
If attention to detail, intricate beading and lacework, and structured yet feminine silhouettes make your heart skip a beat, then Victoria KyriaKides‘s Fall 2015 Bridal Collection is exactly what you need today. Let us know in the comments which is your favorite!
We’re back with more coverage of the Fall 2015 Bridal runway collections, and next on the roster is Liancarlo. While there are some absolutely stunning ivory gowns in the collection, it’s the dresses in nude, blush, silver, and blue tones that have captivated our attention the most. These gowns are exquisitely detailed, so make sure you take a close look in the galleries!
I’ve been a fan of Rivini‘s impeccable wedding gown for years now, so you might think I would know what to expect from her runway shows by this point. But believe me when I say this Fall 2015 show blew me away with its clean lines, delicate beading, and fresh implementation of lace. Which could you see yourself wearing?
How could we possibly cover the Fall 2015 bridal collections without touching on a perennial favorite designer, Jenny Packham? This year Packham has outdone herself again, with a collection full of intricate beading, unexpected hues, and just the right amount of vintage glam to suit every bride.
Things are a bit giddier than usual around the office today, and for a very good reason – we’ve got Reem Acra‘s Bridal Fall 2015 line to share with you! We’ve been blown away by her designs each season, and this time around is no different. We’ve got a whole gallery of beauties for you to admire, so let’s take a peek!
What a treat it is when we get to share images from BHLDN‘s most recent Fall 2014 lookbook with you all, dear readers! This shoot is guaranteed to inspire followers of all types of fashion styles, with classic floor length gowns for the traditional romantic to a lace romper for the unconventional bride. Read on for more details about the shoot, featuring real-life couple Ava and Ryan.
Here’s what BHLDN has to say about this lookbook: Starring models and real-life couple Ava and Ryan, the lookbook gives an intimate peek into a bride and groom on their special day, and helps BHLDN brides draw inspiration for their own weddings. The shoot follows the happy couple on their journey to the aisle all the while showcasing a variety of styles fit for any wedding venue. There are figure-fitting gowns and faux-fur wraps for more uptown nuptials. For casual brides, there are chic, shorter looks — even a lace bridal romper. Each outfit is light and easy to wear, bringing out the bride’s true beauty.
You know we couldn’t possibly do a 2013 round-up without hitting on a perpetual favorite, wedding fashion! This year saw a rise in patterned wedding gowns, eclectic bridesmaid dress choices, and even some groomsmen showing some personality through their attire picks. Without further ado, here are the big hitters for our favorite and most popular 2013 fashion picks:

Without a doubt, my current color scheme crush is gold and black. Something about the pairing screams elegant, fresh, and luxe — and photographer Kat Harris would seem to agree! She formed this shoot after getting inspired by runway collections from Ralph Lauren and Kate Spade, and we’re tickled to see how well her ideas translated into wedding design.
From the photographer, Kat Harris: Ever since I saw Ralph Lauren’s fall 2012 black + gold collection along with Kate Spade’s Spring 2013 collection, I have been dying to do a black and gold themed wedding! Black and gold are timeless, and never go out of style yet you rarely see them incorporated into weddings. What excited me about this theme is that timeless, tailored, class is back ladies! I’m a Southern Prep at heart so I’ve been giddy to see tailored suits for men come back as well as classically polished silhouettes for ladies to be back on the horizon. And of course I had to include bows and chevron prints into the shoot!
What is refreshing to me about this theme is that although timeless it offers a fresh, polished, tailored, yet spunky way to incorporate classic All-American details into your wedding. This is why we incorporated a lemon whiskey bar, chevron print on the invites, and bows upon bows upon bows! And don’t even get me started on how cute Jessie and Johan are together. They’re the perfect couple to embody this shoot! We hope you enjoy it as much as we enjoyed creating it!
Shoot Location: San Juan Capistrano, CA / Photographer: Kat Harris / Shoot Venue: Serra Plaza / Tablescape, Food, Desserts, and Whiskey Bar: Mary of Jay’s Catering / Wedding Flowers: Sussanna Davidson of French Buckets / Dresses: Julia Lovan Designs and Kate Spade / Groom’s Suits: All Saints and J. We have no shame in telling you that we spent hours pouring over images from stylish brides and grooms featured this year, and trust us when we say there were thousands of gorgeous images to look through. So before we end up posting all of them, we stopped at 15, in no particular order. This best-of is chock full of gorgeous veils, gowns, and boys’ outfits, so get your pin it button ready! Be sure to click through each image for a peek at the original features.

See how we can go on forever? Any stylish bride and groom we may have missed? We’d love to know! Of course we have oodles more here in the photo gallery.
When Erin of EE Photography sent this styled shoot our way, we just knew we needed to jump on it! Every single image just oozes Southern charm and vintage appeal, with dreamy decor, weather, and models running rampant. Looking at these pictures makes me desperately wish I had a wooden boat to crawl into and paddle away… Thank you for sharing, Erin!
From the stylist, Shelbi: We began the styling of this photo shoot with a Pearl Harbor theme in mind and gravitated towards an upscale rustic rehearsal dinner. We wanted to incorporate 1940s fashion with a modern flair and incorporate that design into the tablescape, decor and invitation/sign design as well. The use of a fishing net, boat, poles and anchor helped to set the scene for a romantic dinner by the water. At the same time, we used a crisp white tablecloth and natural colors to create a simple and modern setting as well as hints of gold and silver to add a touch of opulence to an otherwise outdoor setting.
In keeping with the 1940s theme we used typefaces with vintage flair and spiced them up with a unique color palettes. The pop of bright gold was used in the invitation and the signs to unify the event but also to make it stand out. I found the succulents at Calloway’s for $5 a piece in plastic pots and wrapped the pots in rope from Walmart to better fit with the design of the table. These were so easy and inexpensive to make but added such personality to the place settings! I included a step-by-step photo tutorial to show how I wrapped the pots. The hanging clear bottles were empty cream soda bottles used as vases for bunches of baby’s breath.
The benches around the table were handmade by my husband who used stumps as support for two old boards. We also used slices of tree stumps to create a chalkboard menu, direction signs and coasters for the table.
I looked everywhere for the perfect fishing net and found one in the most unexpected place! As my husband was gathering wood for to make the benches he discovered a large net lying in the field behind my aunt and uncle’s house. In the midst of creating a fort, we have speculated that one of my cousins somehow acquired and later abandoned a batting cage net and thus we found our centerpiece!

One of the most exciting questions of the past few weeks has finally been answered, and we couldn’t be more pleased! Kate Middleton (or shall we say Duchess Catherine) chose Sarah Burton of fashion house Alexander McQueen to design her wedding gown, and we couldn’t help but see a parallel between Kate’s gown and Grace Kelly’s timeless lace wedding dress. Kate has brought modest simplicity back to bridal sophistication, from her simple tiara to her small posy lily of the valley bouquet. Classic brides, take note from these royal brides of times past:
1956 Princess Grace Kelly of Monaco
1937 Duke of Windsor to Wallis Simpson and on the right, 1978 Baroness Baroness Marie-Christine von Reibnitz
1947 Princess Elizabeth
1963 Princess Alexandra; on the right, 1961 Duchess Katharine Worsley
1967 Queen Margarethe of Denmark
1976 Queen Silvia of Sweden; on the right, 1960 Princess Margaret
What did you guys think of Kate’s look and bouquet?
If we could be princesses for a day, we’d certainly be contacting British designer Charlotte Casadéjus. Charlotte’s gorgeous wedding gowns are so perfectly vintage. Each of her pieces includes original vintage details, ranging from vintage lace to beading to antique buckles. Because of this, none of her pieces are the same and each offers a totally different aesthetic!
I’ve been oohing and ahhing over these dresses for days! I think the champagne satin gown above right has to be my favorite. Which is yours?
We’re also extremely excited to announce Charlotte Casadéjus will be giving us a firsthand look into her newest wedding dress line in the coming weeks, which we will, of course, be sharing with all of you as soon as we get it. Thank you Charlotte Casadéjus for sharing these images with us!
You can spot a Ruffled bride from miles away just by looking at her unique wedding gown. Sarah and Gavin, natives of Australia, chose the idyllic island setting of Bali for their destination wedding, resulting in an event full of pure beauty from top to bottom — namely, Sarah’s absolutely drop-dead gorgeous dress. We hope you enjoy the following lush surroundings and luxuriant wedding images from Lauren Wellington as much as we do!
