California Budget-Friendly Wedding
Andrea and Andres threw multiple DIY parties with their friends until every last detail was perfectly done to fit their rustic wedding, shot by Candice Benjamin. They also were super smart about their budget, and were able to have their wedding with over 100 guests for under $10,000. Pretty incredible!
From the bride, Andrea: It changed throughout my engagement but in the end the style was more rustic/country. I’m not sure if DIY is a style but everything was handed made by myself and close friends.
I did not have a color scheme, I used earth tones so browns, greens, and auburn colors. Pretty much everything was DIY, the aisle decor, the dessert table, the guest sign in table etc. I would describe my wedding as country, rustic, low key, detailed.
Any advice for brides planning their weddings now? Let people who you trust help you, especially if you are doing DIY projects!
From the photographer, Candice Benjamin: Andrea and Andres planned their wedding for 100+ people for under 10k in Southern California. Other than the Photographer and DJ, everything else in the wedding was completely DIY. Andrea had crafting parties with her bridesmaids and made everything for her wedding. Even to the point of going to the flower market the day before her wedding at 4:30 am to pick out the perfect flowers. It was a true DIY wedding and she used everything she could. Andrea and Andres wanted the outdoors wedding to have a rustic, vintage theme… but not in such a way that was way overdone. It was all about the little touches — a sign hanging over the large tree they got married under and the Mr. + Mrs. sign she painted only a few days before the wedding.

i really love those brown dresses. they are so unique and seem to be perfect for the theme of the wedding. i also heart the little tutus the flower girls are wearing!
Any chance we can see how the budget broke down?
I would love to see that breakdown too! wow. adorable theme.
So pretty.
You need exquisite taste to pull that off. Bravo to them. So many people would turn it into a disaster but this couple made it work.
I like the bridesmaids dresses and bridesmaids jewelry. They really match. I love it!
So inspiring…the DIY flowers and invitations turned out beautifully!!
This doesn’t even look like a wedding on a budget. They did an amazing job, and I love their video!
Thanks for the feature! This was such a gorgeous day – Andrea and her loved ones really poured their hearts into making every little detail special!
Beautiful. The magic is in how everything was put together. Simple, inexpensive materials, pulled together beautifully.
So beautiful! I loved the film! And it’s wonderful seeing such a creative, unique, personal wedding on a budget! Gives me hope!
How in the world did they DIY such beautiful invitations? I need to make invites for my own wedding in July and I don’t even know where to begin to get something that is custom and not cheesy…
That’s impressive! Especially the the DYI brides bouquet and boutonnieres…they have a beautiful rustic, natural feel.
I especially like the name tags hanging on burlap stips on the picket fence. Very nicely done.
Beautiful!! Every little detail is just perfect!

Simply Beautiful! May God bless your union.
Omgosh your wedding is absolutely stunning! I am currently planning my wedding of a similar sort of rustic theme! Its funny cause I also don’t have a color scheme and am going with all ‘nature’ colours and find it hard to explain to people ๐ I absolutely love your invitations Andrea, did you make them yourselves?? I have been trying to find a pretty and quaint deer clipart or template but haven’t been able to find anything as lovely as yours. If you got them made do you mind me asking where?? Or if you did them yourself would we be able to see more pictures they are absolutely beautiful ๐
Thanks!
Thanks! They were made by an Etsy shop owner for a very very affordable rate. The shop name is thevintagedaisy and it is owned by Amanda Smith. It would have been more expensive for me to make them myself and she was wonderful to work with! Good luck!
Its driving me crazy! I love your wedding! Whats the song in the video from?
Andrea I love the video! I would like to know whats the song in the video. Thanks
I really wish she’d answer the question about the song. It’s lovely. I’ve tried using apps on my iPhone to find it, putting the lyrics into various search engines… no matches were found.
To everyone asking about the song, it’s “Grow” by Adam Pasion https://www.adampasion.com/ I found this song even before the wedding, and I can’t believe what a perfect fit it was with the video!

I found this song even before the wedding, and the lyrics about trees seemed perfect for this outdoor setting. It was the most perfect match for their wedding video!
I showed the video to my fiance and he was like “I want our wedding to be as beautiful as this one – they had lots of fun and it was all about love”
You guys did a wonderful job – thank you for sharing your beautiful wedding with us!
That was so amazing!
