The Artist and the Scientist

Who says opposites can’t attract? They certainly do in this styled shoot brought to us by Honey & Twine Weddings and Events and Page Bertelsen, which highlights the love between, you guessed it, an artist and a scientist. Picture pretty watercolors, test tube flower arrangements, and a stylish bride in a short lace gown that we’re absolutely nuts about!

From the stylist, Honey & Twine Weddings and Events: We’ve been chilly in San Francisco, and eager for the first signs of spring. Our styled shoot, The Artist and the Scientist brings you some warmth, in the form of a story about blossoming love and the beautiful union of contrasting elements.

Sometime in the 1960s, a very skinny, very quiet high school boy in suspenders was poked in the stomach at his bus stop by a pretty, playful girl two grades above him. The girl claimed not to remember, but the boy never forgot. When they met again years later, he pursuing science and she pursuing art, they stayed up talking all night and realized they had more in common than they ever imagined.

When designing our styled shoot, Tria wanted to pay homage to the two fields her parents brought together so harmoniously: Art & Science. By pairing beakers and atoms with petals and paintbrushes, we aim to combine the masculine and feminine, the orderly and unrestrained, the geometric and fluid. And since Tria’s mom, a watercolor artist, has since passed on, our angelic bride is patiently awaiting her groom in a heavenly (and artistic!) wedding location.
