English Countryside Wedding Inspired by Gardening
Few things make my heart pitter-patter quite like the words “English countryside wedding,” and this one is definitely making my heart sing. Kelly and Ahmad’s big day was the perfect fusion of their styles, bringing in the bride’s love of all things feminine and the groom’s love of gardening. Thank you to Cecelina Photography and Amber Persia for helping to make such a beautiful day!
From the bride, Kelly: We met through Ahmad’s younger brother, who I was friends with. Ahmad tried to take me on a date for ages and eventually I gave in! After 2 and a half years we got engaged, when Ahmad proposed a couple of days before Christmas 2014. We wanted our wedding to be a relaxed fairy tale filled with flowers! This meant that both of our personalities and passions were included as I am very girly and love anything “princess-y” and Ahmad loves his gardening.
We instantly fell in love with Almonry Barn – said to be the oldest barn in Britain – and the fairy lights in the reception room were perfect for our style. We wanted the barn to be sprinkled with flowers and chose delicate pastel colours to match the lilac bridesmaid dresses. When it came to choosing my dress, and the bridesmaids, I wanted them both to have lots of silky layers and tulle so they could swish around in the wind!
We loved every second of the day. The ceremony was so personal to us. We had written our own poem explaining our story and wanted to share it with the people closest to us. We also wrote our own vows. After the dinner, we surprised our guests with a balloon release, while one of my bridesmaids read a poem. It was a fun way to bring our guests together in the evening and show how ‘love is in the air’! Our day was everything we imagined and more. The day ran seamlessly and we cannot thank Eloise and Strawberry Field enough for their attention to detail. The talented Amber Persia who dressed the barn beautifully, Leanne for the stunning and delicious cake, James for being such a discrete videographer who captured moments that we didn’t take in on the day. And of course Cecelina for taking the most perfect photographs we could ask for, to treasure forever! The day would not have been the same without everyone’s help and we only wish we could do it all over again!
