DIY Vine Wall Backdrop
It’s my personal belief that greenery is always a welcome addition to any type of decor, so this DIY vine wall backdrop tutorial from Kristina Curtis Photography and Calie Rose is right up my alley. Let’s jump right in and find out how to make the perfect greenery backdrop, shall we?
DIY Vine Wall: Adding green vines to a backdrop is a great way to immediately transform a blank canvas, into a beautiful statement piece. Joe and Kirsten wanted a clean yet earthy feel to their formal wedding session so we took a boring white wall and turned it into a gorgeous green earthy backdrop. We thought this would be inspiring for other brides planning their own wedding — this is especially great for indoor events or wedding ceremonies taking place during the cooler months!
For this project, you will need:
-Greenery, anything that lasts out of water {we used Italian Ruscus}
-Duct Tape
-Fishing Line
-Green Floral Wire
-Scissors
Instructions:
1. We started off by connecting our greenery with the green floral wire so we would have some nice, long pieces to begin with. Once you have a good variety of lengths, you’re ready to begin placing them on your backdrop.
2. Secure the greenery on your backdrop with duct tape. Duct tape is pretty strong so you will only need a couple small pieces per each vine. We then hung sections with fishing line from the ceiling to create dimension.
3. Continue to build your shape around your focal point, making sure to keep the shape of your greenery asymmetrical. This will help mimic the feel of it growing wild in nature.
That’s a great idea! You could totally incorporate some flowers in there too if you needed some colour. Love this idea.
Lovely DIY wall backdrop. The pictures are gorgeous.
