City Chic Dallas Wedding

This beautiful Dallas wedding designed by Jen Rios Design and photographed by Sara & Rocky Photography has just the right balance of modern and bohemian. Lush greenery, wooden stumps and gold accents make up most of this bride and groom’s botanical DIY decor.

From the bride, Ashley: I wanted to bring a little bit of my bohemian style into the modern venue with lots of unique accents – every table was a bit different! There was a lot of wood elements, along with a splash of orange and greens; my wedding designer made a lot of amazing things… my favorite was a wooden sign on the sweetheart table that had our initials made with nails and string!

My favorite moment was the “first look”. I was actually against doing this in the beginning, but my advice to any bride who isn’t sold on it – do it! That was the only moment my husband and I were actually on our own. It calmed my nerves before the ceremony!

Wedding Music:
That (along with cake tasting) was my husband’s only job! He chose “Gone, Gone, Gone” by Phillip Phillips for our first dance. It was upbeat, so we were able to have fun with it!

From the event designer, Jen Rios Design: Ashley has a modern, bohemian style that was so fun to design with. She wanted to infuse shades of her favorite colors green and orange, with white and metallic gold. She loves stumps, moss and antlers and you will see all of those items used in the design. She wanted to have more greenery than floral so even her bouquet is unique with minimal floral. Ashley and Greg are such a fun couple and their cocktail vibe reception in the lounge of The Magnolia Hotel provided a great atmosphere to celebrate with family and friends! DIY details included gilded antlers and stumps, gold stripe glass votives, ombre nailhead table numbers, and moss portrait frames.
