Black Tie Halloween Wedding Inspiration
Halloween is creeping up on us, and we can’t think of a better way to kick off the spirit than this elegant take on a Halloween wedding from Smith House Photography, Paige Kristian Planning, and Arteflora Design. The team used an updated palette of navy blue and burgundy with just a touch of gold, and a selection of fresh fruits made the perfect accent. The cake especially caught our eye — we love the idea of using gold foil!
From the photographer and stylist, Becki of Smith House Photography: When we began dreaming of a Halloween inspired wedding shoot, we knew we wanted to step away from the typical “orange and black”. So we replaced orange with golds (take a close look at the flatware from Anthropologie, it is to die for!) and black with navy (of course we kept SOME black, it just seemed to fit!) to create something unique and beautiful for the holiday. With burgundy as our main color accent and a venue with gorgeous greenery, we aimed to use organics and florals to bring in deep, dark colors to our Halloween inspiration; blackberries, figs, deep peonies. We wanted classic.
We wanted details that would be appealing even to a bride who may never consider a Halloween affair. But since it is Halloween, we added in amazing Halloween details; Cue the most unique BLACK wedding cake you’ve ever seen and romantic Corpse Bride quotes incorporated into the invitations and ceremony backdrop. So without a pumpkin in sight, we present to you the gorgeous Black (Berry) Tie Halloween Inspiration Shoot at The Gallery in Houston, Texas.
Hello! My name is Chelsea and I run the blog The Johnsons Plus Dog. On Wednesdays we share wedding planning advice. I am working on a post that will feature creative ceremony set ups. I would love to feature this wedding backdrop in my roundup. With your permission, I would use one photo and provide a link back to your site. Let me know if you would be ok with this. I will not post without your permission.
