Austin Garden Wedding
I’m pretty sure that if there was ever just one recipe for a gorgeous wedding, a Jenny Packham gown would be one of the ingredients. As a starting point to planning, Leah and Kevin went for a light and airy garden wedding, with cluster florals by Bouquets of Austin and event design by BZ Events. Love the pops of gilded succulents in the bouquets and centerpieces captured by Katherine O’Brien Photography.
From the bride, Leah: I saw the dress in a photo online and couldn’t get it out of my head. When I went dress shopping, it wasn’t super successful because I was comparing everything to that dress that I didn’t know anything about, except what it looked like. I decided to hunt down the dress online to find out the designer and name of the dress. Once I did that, I called around to the bridal boutiques in Houston to figure out who carried that designer. I found a boutique who carried the designer, Jenny Packham, but not the exact dress. They were going to get a floor model in December, but that would be too late to order it for an April wedding. I had to make a decision to order the dress and if I didn’t like it, it was not returnable or refundable or keep searching for another dress. I decided to take the (expensive) risk because I was totally in love with the dress and it was so worth it! I ended up absolutely loving it.
When we visited Villa Del Lago, we noticed the potted succulents, so I knew that I wanted to incorporate those into the flower arrangements. Also, there was so much natural beauty and the grounds of Villa Del Lago are so well kept, that I thought having smaller, eclectic looking arrangements would be really pretty. Also, the grooms wore ties from Paris Texas Apparel Co. Kevin is friends with the guy who started the company and those were their grooms gifts as well.
Any advice for couples planning their weddings now? Everyone always says this, but don’t stress the small stuff because on the day of, none of that stuff will matter.
