Yucaipa Wedding with Craft Beer
Few things make us happier than a crafty groom, and Katie’s beau Dustin was ready and willing to get to work designing the head table backdrop, the ceremony arbor, and the wedding invitations and paper goods. The couple also enlisted the talents of Brett & Tori Photographers, Willow Tree Weddings, and Ashley Lyons, all of whom helped to bring the couple’s vision of a chic craft beer themed wedding together perfectly!
From the bride, Katie: Dustin and I met on a blind date. We knew in our hearts it was meant to be when we found out that every summer both of our families go house boating on Lake Powell the exact same week!! We’re both huge fans of craft beer. There were subtle hints of a craft beer theme throughout our wedding such as using growlers for centerpieces. We wanted our unique tastes and passions to be shown in all aspects of our wedding, including food, décor, and music selections.
Our arbor and backdrop of the head table were both designed and built by my husband. Dustin has always been very creative and he displayed his talents beautifully at our wedding. Signage: We had a lot of hand-lettered signs arranged around our reception area. My favorite sign at our wedding was our beer selection sign. The beer sign was a collaboration of my husband’s craftsman skills and my cousin’s artistic abilities. My husband and I loved this sign so much that we have it hanging in his woodworking shop. Dustin and I wanted our two nieces to be our flower girls. One of our nieces is special needs, so we had to get creative on how to get them down the aisle. We decided to have them be pulled down the aisle in a wagon that was beautifully decorated with a garland my florist designed. It was so important for us to have both our nieces involved in our big day and the pictures of them coming down the aisle in a wagon are some of my favorites!
My favorite memory of the day was walking down the aisle. Dustin and I decided not to do a first look so we could have that emotional moment of seeing each other for the first time in front of all our closest friends and family. The moment I saw my groom’s face I felt this overwhelming feeling of pure bliss. In that moment all I could think about was how blessed I was to be marrying the man of my dreams.
Any advice for couples planning their weddings now? Have fun planning! I know people say it all the time but don’t sweat the small stuff! And to help you not sweat the small stuff … hire a wedding coordinator! It was the best decision we made. My husband and I say all the time how we don’t know what we would’ve done without ours. She took care of every detail and reminded me about the things I had over looked. On the day of our wedding I was very relaxed because I knew our wedding coordinator was taking care of everything.
This wedding is ADORABLE. And awesome photography, well done! Love the rustic undertones.
