Wizard of Oz Wedding Inspiration

Hold onto your seats, folks, because today’s photoshoot (sent over by the queen of themed shoots, Sarah Kathleen) is positively overflowing with goodness. Equal parts Wizard of Oz and Halloween spookiness, this shoot styled by {Ever After} Artistry embraces all that late autumn has to offer with touches of emerald green, glitter, and bright red heels.

From the photographer, Sarah Kathleen: When you hear “Wizard of Oz”, what do you immediately think of? Munchkins, yellow brick roads, rainbows, ruby slippers, and a cute little dog…. right? Well, I wanted to go the complete opposite direction and draw inspiration from the dark side of Oz — flying monkeys, wicked witches, tornadoes, storm cellars, and poisonous flowers. So I teamed up with some of the area’s most brilliant creatives to bring this twisted Oz to life. We decided on a color palette of emerald, black, and white — with very few colorful nods to the brighter side of Oz (mostly through the floral design and the rainbow streamer ceremony backdrop). Seeing my dark and twisty vision come to life in a way that was still applicable to parties and weddings was surreal. We had so much fun playing dress up and throwing rainbow sprinkles, I want to do it all over again 🙂

  • I truly can’t stop looking at this feature. It’s one of my favorites to date. Thank you so much for having my dark and twisty vision on your beautiful blog 🙂

  • over the top creativity! elegant! fern backed silverware setting…oh la la!! marvelous ALL around.

  • I am in awe. I have never seen such a more magical themed wedding. It’s perfect. All of the details from the wedding stationary to the red shoes are fabulously executed. And I love how the bride wore a black dress, more people need to switch it up nowadays!
