Valentine’s Day Wedding Inspiration with Handcrafted Elements
Valentine’s Day is tomorrow (!!!), and we’ve got the perfect styled shoot to celebrate. A perfect fusion of winter hues and handcrafted details, this editorial from Casie Marie Photography, Tickled Pink Weddings, and Porch Therapy is sure to inspire. Of course, we have to give a special shout-out to the jaw-dropping gown by Made With Love — that lace!
From the event designer, Tickled Pink Weddings: For this inspiration shoot we decided on a Valentine’s Day theme. The beautiful deep colors of the winter months really allowed for us to create something amazing and breathtaking. We chose to go with an industrial/bohemian vibe for our rentals and also for the bridal gown and then everything started to fall right into place. For this shoot we also featured a ton of local artists here in Orlando, FL. From the macramé backdrop, to the “I like doing life with you” print, we wanted to showcase what the vendors and artists of Orlando have to offer.
Some advice for new brides would be to find the creatives in your area and see what kind of local art is available for you to use on your wedding day. Also, another piece of advice to brides is to use and re-purpose parts of your every day life into your events. The entire guest table happened because we found a big sheet of reclaimed wood and threw it on top of a rolling rack that was in the studio we were using. The same goes for the macramé ring structure that was hung up at the end of the table. We had wire rings and a piece of the macramé that was left over from the larger structure. Our floral artist found the pieces and put them together to make them into something even more beautiful. We would also say it’s so important to find vendors who get you and your vision. There are so many moving parts to designing a wedding and being sure that your vendors all understand your vision will ensure everything comes together as one cohesive style.
Lastly, we would love to give a shout out to those vendors that are found on Etsy. Our hand dyed silk ribbon, handmade paper for the invitations, and the velvet ring box were all supplied to us from makers on Etsy. The ability to go online and support other small business on your wedding day can really make the smallest of details even more breathtaking. Another piece of advice for brides is to not overlook the makers they have purchased from on etsy when crediting their wedding day vendors. It’s easy to lose track of the small details, but the businesses can thrive off the images of their work being showcased in a multitude of ways. Don’t forget to send your professional images back to those makers so they may be able to promote the items to other future brides!
