Turkey Destination Wedding

I have to admit, I’m a bit of a sucker for international weddings – so when I saw this beautiful destination wedding in Turkey, it was clear I needed to share it with you all! Yeliz Atici and Aisha Wedding & Events worked wonders on Sedef and Utku’s wedding, adding stunning pops of color to an elegant garden affair. How wonderful is that ceremony altar?

From the bride, Sedef: We wanted a destination wedding. For us it was important to work with our guests to spend as much time as possible with them, so we made a whole wedding celebration weekend of it. It was such great fun, that in the end it did not even feel like a wedding, but rather a relaxed holiday with family and friends. We were initially looking at villa weddings in Spain but we thought it would be too difficult to plan and we didn’t really like the work of any of the wedding planners we were talking to there so we decided on a beach wedding in Turkey. Gocek is a beautiful and quiet beach town in south of Turkey known for its green and blue scenery. Utku and I did pretty much everything ourselves. Of course we got a lot of help from people we worked with but we didn’t outsource any imagining. It was exactly as we wanted it to be. I think the secret is not worrying about small details. In the end it is going to be an amazing night or weekend.

Our wedding was very romantic but also very emotional, thanks to the super fun party with our guests. I’ll never forget it as I suddenly felt like a thousand butterflies were in my stomach at the moment Utku squeezed my hand and we walked down the aisle. It was all just as we dreamed it to be. I think the secret is not to get angry over little things because at the end of the day, it’s already unforgettable beauty.

We had hired a professional DJ, but our friends began after midnight with his own DJing, which was so much better and super fun. Also, the fact that the wedding did not end until the next morning and we brought all our bathing suits to jump into the sea, was a unique moment. Weddings are a kind of new beginnings, so we gave each guest a small plant on the way home.
