Inspiration Shoot Turned Surprise Proposal
This summery sweet wedding shoot styled by Krista and Lauren Southern Soiree is full of pretty as they come. So you can picture us chanting a big fat Awww in unisom when Jessie Holloway Photography captured the volunteering couple’s proposal. Read on for the story – Lauren and Krista are also sharing how they made some of the details you see throughout the shoot!
Some DIY secrets from Krista and Lauren of Southern Soiree…
How to make dream catcher inspired ribbon hoops (picture above):
What you’ll need: various sizes of metal rings (Hobby Lobby has them), twine or yarn, assortment of ribbons and feathers, & scissors.
Tie a knot with the yarn on the ring and wrap until the entire ring is covered then tie another knot to secure. Take the yarn and crisscross it through the center of the ring to create the pattern. Tie to secure. Cut strips of ribbon and tie to the bottom of the ring.
Seafoam Painted Glass:
What you’ll need: collect glass or acrylic vases, candle holders, drinking glasses from Goodwill or a thrift store. You will also need food coloring, a paint brush, a bowl, & Elmer’s glue.
Combine food coloring and Elmer’s glue in a bowl. Amount of food coloring depends on how intense you want the shade. Using long smooth strokes, paint the items. I recommend practicing first as it takes a little skill to prevent bubbling and streaks!

I don’t see the story! Did they really get engaged or was it part of the shoot? Very pretty headpiece and I love the ribbon backdrop at the ceremony site.
Gorgeous photos from the beginning with lovely lights to the night time firelight. Lovely couple!
That is SO cute! I bet she was really surprised.
