Spring Neon Wedding Inspiration
As soon as we heard the team of Alexis June Weddings, Attention 2 Detail Events, and Merit & Vine was collaborating on a spring neon wedding inspiration shoot, we knew we were in for a treat — and how right we were! Prepare yourself for some major pops of color that are making us glad it’s our favorite season of the year.
From the event stylist, Ashley of Attention 2 Detail Events: For this inspiration shoot I wanted to show couples a way to incorporate bright neon colors into their wedding design without having to take the whole “neon trend” overboard. You can still have a polished wedding that still has a fun vibe! The stationery suite was created using geometric designs to bring a modern and playful feel to the finished product. The invitation was a diamond shape and hinged with 3 separate sections, to create an experience for guests when opening them. The velum envelopes gave guests a peek of what was inside before it was opened! The same motif was used for the escort cards and menus as well.
I created a geometric string art display to showcase the escort cards. The black string used really helped the cards stand out against the pink backdrop! For the tablescape, I wanted to keep the linens neutral and bring in the pops of color in unexpected places, so I chose amazing green chairs! (When choosing chairs that are bright colors or styles, you don’t have to worry about accenting them with additional decor. Let the color do the talking!) I also created a custom light fixture by using an old wicker basket, flipping it over, and stringing a hanging bulb through it. A super simple way to bring some unique touches into your wedding!
I didn’t want to stick with a basic white linen, so I created a custom circle runner using fabric paint and stamping interlocking circles down the center of the linen. I really wanted to create a visual effect on the tables, even when a guest wasn’t standing directly in front of them, so I made sure to extend the pattern all the way down the sides too! Circular metal chargers added a pop of color against the white linen and I alternated between both black and bright blue entree and appetizer plates, on each place setting, which added a bit more fun on the table. Bright neon glasses in orange, pink, and green, brought a little bit more color to the table as well.
I used basic white napkins but customized them a bit by adding diagonal stripes on the ends. Another simple way to add some easy drama to your table by using fabric paint! I also loved the contrast of the hot pink napkin rings that I created using basic electrical wire. The centerpiece was stunning and by incorporating some bright florals with beautiful white blooms and greenery, it really made the colors stand out! Our fun table number was simple but so fun with a pop-up free standing design! Adding fresh lemon and lime to a carafe on the table for your guests is also a simple way to add a little more color to your tablescape, and it doesn’t hurt to add a bit of citrus flavor either! Licorice rockies, packaged in clear square boxes, were perfect as guest favors. The black licorice was filled with vanilla and strawberry cream and allowed guests to take a pop of neon home with them! I wanted to keep the cake very classic but still give it a modern touch. The same circular design, found throughout the event, was used for the cake layers. To keep things neutral, the cake was covered in white fondant and topped with white nonpareils and varying shades and sizes of white and off-white pearls. The cake was served on a black pedestal and placed on a metallic high table to give it more of a modern touch.
With the brightness of the table and event design, I wanted to keep our gorgeous bride very classic. She wore a high top knot and a stunning custom white mermaid gown, with custom beading throughout the entire bodice. The neon theme was brought to life with a pop of bright pink on her lips and her necklace gave her a modern touch. The groom wore a custom grey suit with a pop of pink in his boutonniere, and the bouquet was a combination of both bright and white florals that came to life against her white gown.
