Spring Minneapolis Wedding

After seeing this wedding from Laura Ivanova and Munster Rose, we’re nearly convinced there’s nothing prettier than Minneapolis in the spring. With endless touches of peach hues and pops of metallic gold, Ipek and Matthew’s wedding day looks to be as perfect as it gets, right down to their incredible ceremony site in Millennium Hotel Minneapolis.

From the bride, Ipek: We loved how unique our venue was as soon as we saw pictures of it. We decided to balance out the modern look of the dome and the city backdrop with romantic flowers. We wanted an elegant affair, without losing our inherent silliness, which led us to pick details personal to us. We kept our ceremony short and sweet and full of inside jokes. We also timed it so that our guests can enjoy the view. I loved my dress the moment I first tried it on. It was not only very comfortable and light, but also had delicate floral details and a dreamy color. Without really making a connection, I picked invitations that were similar in spirit. Our venue’s food was amazing and even though we thought our guests would be reluctant to dance, the dance floor was always full. For our favors, we wanted to give out a taste of Hawaii, since we were headed there for our honeymoon.

We chose peach, light gold and ivory as our colors. I love peaches very much, and we thought our colors would work well with the colors of our venue. We didn’t have a theme, but added a little personal twist. Growing up, we had both loved dinosaurs and now, we make it a point to get photos in front of all dinosaurs we find. So we had dinosaur names for each table. We had my mother read A Lovely Love Story by Edward Monkton, a story that captured the spirit of our relationship in many ways. We also had custom made adorable dinosaur cake toppers, that melted our hearts the moment we saw them. The lady dinosaur’s bouquet matched my own perfectly!

On the day of the wedding, we felt incredibly lucky. Our amazing vendors and even the weather made sure everything went flawlessly. Our beautiful florals and my bouquet was much more gorgeous than I could have ever imagined, the light was perfect inside the dome and everything was really romantic. We ended up having a wonderful day, and couldn’t stop smiling. And now we get to relive the beauty thanks to our incredible photographer.

Any advice for couples planning their weddings now? I found that it’s really important to see the big picture instead of worrying about the small details. Stressing about the details, even though they are important can make the process so much more tiring than it needs to be. In the end things do come together, and it feels silly to have worried so much about them. It’s also great to let others take care of things on the day of the wedding, so you can relax and enjoy your day! Try to make a mental note of the special moments, as the day goes by incredibly fast!
