This Spanish Style Wedding Venue Played Host To A Fun Mid-Century Mod Shindig
The Spanish style wedding venue you’re about to see is a kind of magic, that’s for sure! With Katie Jackson Photography behind the lens, the sweeping views, red roof tiles and stucco walls so central to Spanish Revival architecture will have you begging for more. Thankfully, Jane Alexandra Events was at the ready to supply mid-century modern design ideas that complement the setting so perfectly, we’re wondering why this epic combo hasn’t been done before?! As if the California team hadn’t already struck gold, Velvet Blooms loaded up on bold yellow + orange hued blooms juxtaposed against matte black vessels and twist taper candles. Needless to say, we’re hooked. See all the possibilities of this charming Spanish style wedding venue in the inspo below!
From the Planner & Designer, Jane Alexandra Events: Spanish Hills Country Club recently renovated and their new look is absolutely stunning! The clean, modern, and minimalist vibe is perfect for brides and grooms looking for a blank slate to really create the wedding of their dreams!
We wanted to use the remodel as inspiration for the shoot by creating a clean mid-century modern aesthetic. For the color palette, we kept it pretty neutral so as not to take away from the gorgeous space.
From there we moved to cocktail hour for some specialty cocktails. This space didn’t need any additions as the venue comes with an amazing built-in bar with perfect mid-century barstools!
After drinks, we head over to reception with a gorgeous window allowing the space to feel light and open which is a rare find when looking at an indoor space. The fitting “Audrey” chairs from Bright Event Rentals were the first thing I knew I had to have for this editorial.
They seemed made for this space and they did not disappoint! A simple textured linen helped the florals and tableware shine and the black napkins and floral compotes finalized the look.
Our Bride and Groom were dressed in simple yet classic attire that was perfectly MidMod and the bride’s floral adorned veil added the exactly right amount of texture to the look. We ended the day with the perfect getaway car.. a black 1965 mustang convertible!
Of course, what’s a mid-century modern wedding without a vintage mustang convertible sendoff to boot? If you have a penchant for Mission architecture, check out this San Antonio inspo with a slightly more “Old World romantic” twist next.
