Sierra Madre Wedding
Take a second to look up the definition of “all-star wedding team” in the dictionary, and we’re pretty sure you’ll find the following names as examples: Erich McVey, Catherine C. Leo of CCL Weddings & Events, and Shelby Nolan of Green Leaf Designs. This dream team assembled Lindsey and Kyle’s wedding day into a display of lush greenery, blush tones, and a generous helping of sequins, all aided by the photography skills of McVey.
From the bride, Lindsey: My husband loves golf and so he naturally can’t help falling in love with the color green! This became one of our colors very early on also because our last name means “leaf” – We incorporated a leaf garland into our silhouette monogram and this theme was carried out in our leaf garland at our ceremony and tables at our reception. Lush green leaves and dainty maiden fern could be seen in our details.
Villa Del Sol D’oro was everything we were looking for in a venue. The 1920s villa was modeled after one of Michaelangelo’s designs and had the most charming interior that matched the beauty of the exterior. From the outside, you could feel the warmth of Tuscany. But once were were on the inside, it felt like we had entered an estate from the Great Gatsby! Warm cobblestones and black and white checkered floors were just some details our dancing feet fell in love with!
We had to use every part of this romantic villa! We named each of the rooms of the villa which was inspired by the different lands you can find at Disneyland! Guests entered through our “Grand Entrance” where a sign displayed “Welcome to our Happily Ever After.” The “Sweet Suite” was where our cake from MerelySweet was displayed on a gold sequence tablecloth. In the “Pop Parlor” we served soda pop and popcorn which was being freshly popped outside. A silhouette artist sat in our long hallway which we titled “Mainstreet.” In this hall, we also had our escort cards which were “tickets” to Disneyland rides- It’s a Small World, Pirates of the Caribbean, etc. Dinner was enjoyed on the “Tasteful Terrace” under twinkling lights. After dinner, we danced and cut cake in the library of the house which was splashed with gold confetti and reminiscent of a 1920s party. In the evening, the doors were opened and a food truck served churros – our favorite treat at Disneyland!!
Any advice for couples planning their weddings now? Enjoy the process!
