Santa Cruz Bohemian Wedding Ideas
When Jennifer Edmon of Something Blue set out to create this styled shoot with Majesta Patterson, there were no holds barred. Jennifer not only put together the incredible tablescape, but also made the pillows, the skirt of the dress, the floral arrangements, and provided all of the vintage rentals! Don’t miss the dreamy accompanying video from Patterson Films.
From the stylist, Jennifer of Something Blue: I had such a wonderful time styling this shoot. When Majesta and I committed to doing this project together, we knew a boho shoot in the beautiful Santa Cruz would be the perfect inspiration for us. For every event, I like to stem design from one specific piece of inspiration. In this case, it was the beautiful bottles on the table. My Nonna and Papa actually collected them all off beaches when my dad was a little boy. She has kept them all these years and gave them to me this Thanksgiving. They are all truly vintage and some were made in the early 1900’s. It made me feel so special that she gave them to me, and I am so happy their beauty is being shared! After seeing how the bottles collected the sunlight and turned bright, I was in love!
Feathers and head wreaths are always a good staple for bohemian styled weddings. The place cards are a really simple, pretty, inexpensive way to make a statement on your plates. Print/write the names of your guests, rip into strips and weave in a feather or flower stem, then presto! Sweet name cards! I made all the pillows, definitely a much cheaper way to go than purchasing pillows. Plus, you get to pick your exact color palette. I think they came out pretty cute! I really like the idea of low tables, no chairs but comfy stylish pillows to sit on.
Oh, and we cannot forget the dress! I found that darling vintage grey-blue lace bustier and made the skirt with an ivory dotted lace overlay and linen. The flowers really do take the cake on this one. Whenever I see the opportunity, I use amaranthus (the weepy green flowers). I just love the way they lay in every arrangement. White Camelias, baby’s breath, green germini and branches are what make this pretty bouquet! All this with our very own vintage décor rentals set the stage for this inspiration shoot, and I couldn’t be happier with how everything turned out.

We LOVE her dress! When viewing these photos the song “Today was a Fairytale” came to our mind. Truly a magical photo shoot with a lovely, classic feel. Very creative! Congratulations to the happy couple!
