Sunrise Punta Cana Wedding

Katya and Rob, who are photographers themselves, knew they wanted a gorgeous and relaxed wedding with amazing photographs to remember the day by. To help them achieve this, they brought on the talent of Cole and Jakob of Nordica Photography who sent these gorgeous images our way. The newlyweds chose to have their ceremony at sunrise, thereby getting some incredible lighting for their on-the-beach nuptials.

From the photographers, Cole and Jakob of Nordica Photography: The couple whose wedding this was is Katya and Rob, and they are wedding photographers themselves who relocated to the Dominican from Canada last year. The wedding was simple, with the main goal for all guests to have fun and enjoy beautiful Punta Cana. However, within the simplicity it was also classy and creative, and Katya had given the planner total freedom to style the ceremony and reception with her creativity.

What made the wedding different than other beach / destination weddings was definitely the sunrise ceremony. With the entire wedding party dressed in white, the early morning start-time allowed for some beautiful images, and considering Katya and Rob are photographers themselves, the pictures were very important to them.

  • Some spectacular photography! I especially liked the opening shot of the couple with the sun/light wash in the background. Beach weddings can have some of the finest settings for pictures and this couples wedding photographer proves it! Kudos!!

  • This is fabulous! Designing Katya’s {Red-i} By Chelsea “Bond Girl Fantasy Bracelet” was such a pleasure and she is an absolute beach dream of a bride! Congrats to the bride & groom and thank you for the mention!!

  • So beautiful!!! It was a honor to be Katya’s travel agent for this destination wedding!

The entire wedding day starting at sunrise was such a special way for them to truly spend a full day surrounded by the love of family and friends!

  • I can’t pinpoint one thing I love about this wedding, the whole thing is dreamy. Those menu’s, the table decor, the relaxed beach setting (and white theme), their photos are amazing and it shows that they are photographers too, knowing the relaxed and natural settings creating images to swoon over for years.

  • Holy cow, I LOVE the idea of shooting a sunrise wedding. This is so beautiful!!! I love when photographers get married 🙂

  • Absolutely stunning photos! The photographer is amazing. The attention to detail here is just perfect. Who doesn’t want every little detail of the biggest day of their life captured? The photographer truly did that here. And bride’s dress is perfect. Lace is always gorgeous.

  • The photos are indeed beautiful. The idea of a sunrise beach wedding ceremony however caught my attention and I have to say that it is quite impressive. What a beautiful wedding this was and the fabulous photos are proof of how such a wedding can turn out to be.

  • In addition to the photos being absolutely gorgeous, that church is beautiful! Can you share the name of the church?
