Summer Camp Wedding
Looking through these images sent over by stylist Sarah Dreher of On Solid Ground Rentals, I had to do a bit of a triple-take as I saw her mention that this was actually a styled shoot! Complete with bridesmaids, groomsmen, and a ring-bearing pup complete with florals by Maven Floral, this inspiration shoot creates a full picture of a perfect wedding for the outdoorsy duo. Since we’re getting ourselves used to bidding adieu to summer, this early fall, Indian Summer shoot makes us giddy for the best of next season. Our thanks to Heidi Lynn Photography for these images!
From the stylist, Sarah of On Solid Ground Rentals: I collaborated with Jenny Kleven of Maven Floral months ago to build on the concept of a simple wedding for a couple who loves to camp as much as they love each other. We pulled our inspiration from the desire for an endless summer, right at height of the Indian Summer. We included guests and a wedding party to show how the couple wanted to share their special day with only their closest friends and family.
The reception dinner included a primitive wash station to clean up before food. We made Roast, potatoes and carrots prepared in the red striped roaster, grilled corn and corn bread with honey butter and invited our “guests” to not only act as our models, but to enjoy a dinner with us! Beverages were also provided, including a “Campy Cocktail” stations, with camp coolers filled with each concoction.
What’s a camp without a camp fire with s’mores! We provided the “guests” with a variety of unique s’mores toppings including popular candy bars (reeses on your s’mores?? Yes, PLEASE!) and German chocolate marshmallows.
The couple then retreats to their Honeymoon tent, sheltered underneath the trees, but out in the outdoor elements they love! After a cozy stay in their honeymoon tent, the couple escapes to start their lives as husband and wife.
