Romantic Temecula Wedding with Vintage Books
A bride with a love for all things vintage will always have a special place in our hearts. Helen and David’s Temecula wedding (pulled off with the help of Shane and Lauren Photography and Sweet Marie Designs) is the exemplification of sheer romance, with plenty of pastel floral arrangements, lace details, and antique books used as decor throughout the day.
From Alise Davis of Sweet Marie Designs: Helen and David stole my heart from the day I met them. At our consultation meeting Helen described her perfect day with David and family celebrating their love. She had this adorable packet ready for us to review and when she turned the page to the image of her overall inspiration I couldn’t help but chuckle after she talked about the photograph a little. She described how she loved how this particular designer’s use of blush tones with a hint of cream and gold. She liked that the shape was whimsical yet still pulled together and she had to have the silver vessels used. Unknown to her, Helen was inspired by a wedding designed by us at Sweet Marie Designs. Laughter instantaneously broke out after I thought she was joking about not knowing I had created the design she had loved.
Wanting to make sure we didn’t just replicate the same arrangements and bouquets for her, as we believe each client is unique and should have a custom design for themselves, we had her describe her wedding day and design in a few key words. Her words were soft, dainty, and romantic. She went on to say that the use of vintage books were really important to her as they encompassed her love for reading as well as that romantic elegance of the past. Their selection of their venue, South Coast Winery, hinted to David’s interests of nature and the outdoors as well as fine wines.
The setting was gorgeous with an outdoors ceremony and soft natural lighting. We dressed vintage french doors from Archive Rentals with a garland of greenery (playing on the nature aspect of David’s inspiration and interests) with blush and ivory blooms throughout the space. Guest were welcomed to a lush landscaped courtyard and wished the couple well while lounging on elegant blue toned vintage furniture sipping their beverages and enjoying the evening. To incorporate books into the centerpieces we decided to place The arrangements sat upon various vintage books in cream and blue and drew guest into the space to celebrate the merry couple.
Wispy and textural greens, such as jasmine vine, white pieris japonica, green thistle, white veronica, and blush astilbe were used to achieve the garden and natural feel of their event while we incorporated queen anne’s lace and vintage green speckled hydrangea to play on the vintage elegance. These were then complemented by feminine blush Juliet garden roses, constance garden roses, and cafe au lait Dahlias as well as fluffy, soft white lithianthus and golden hued carmel antike garden roses.
It’s always in the details and this wedding proves the fact. All of the small things makes this such a fabulous visual….and of course I am always loving the vintage books.
