Romantic Santorini Elopement
Is it ever not a good day for an elopement in Santorini? This beautiful wedding from Julia Kaptelova, Rosmarin Weddings and Events, and Fabio Zardi takes us to our favorite Greek island for the most intimate elopement of Inna and Ilya. The pastel color palette just happens to be the icing on the cake here!
From the designer, Anna of Rosmarin Weddings and Events: Lately it happens often that the couple wants to avoid big wedding with lots of guests. In this case, the best solution appears in intimate wedding just for two, when two loving people in an atmosphere of infinite romance pronounce the most important words for each other. That was the story of Inna and Ilya. They chose for the wedding ceremony a small church on a lonely cliff on the most beautiful island on earth – Santorini.
Inna, as a perfectionist, wanted to create an unforgettable day. That’s why she has paid great attention to details, decor and color palette. The choice fell on a peach – a gentle, very wedding color, green – we used a lot of ivy, fragrant eucalyptus, which is rich in Santorini, and as accents – purple, plum. Thin flowing fabrics, exquisite details, vintage dishes and fruit table decoration – all these made style truly gentle and romantic. Song of couple – John Legend’s “All of me”, and the main phrase of it — “All of me loves all of you” — became the leitmotif for the wedding paper goods, which perfectly fit into the overall style. Inna ordered pillowcases as well which decorated the bride’s morning.
There was so much tenderness that day! The beautiful bride looked incredibly elegant, and at the same time romantic. By the way the dress was sewn to order, and it is often the best solution when your dream dress is impossible to find in stores. Ilya looked like a character from old Hollywood films – perfectly fitting suit, accessories and, of course, a bow tie in the tone of the wedding palette. We organized a dinner on the terrace of the hotel room, and by tradition it started in the most romantic time on Santorini – when the sun had almost disappeared behind the horizon and painted the island in ocher colors. It was a wedding the couple dreamed of, and the memories of this day will remain in their hearts for a lifetime. No doubt about it!
The warm colors are perfect for this water-front day. We hope our Merrimon Wynne House brides will take advantage of this romantic color combination!
