Retro Modern Wedding in Palm Springs

As soon as I hear the words “Palm Springs wedding,” I get a certain image in my head — and this wedding from Krista Mason Photography, Chic Celebrations, Heavenly Blooms is the perfect embodiment of that image. Bold stripes, pinks and oranges, and a poolside reception all fit right in here, and the couple’s retro meets glamorous meets modern vibe is a definite winner!

From the event designers, Chic Celebrations: Ivette and Chris fell in love with Palm Springs as they were dating, so they new that is where they would want to celebrate. As we toured the Sand Acre they fell in love with the lush garden and rich history (this is the home that Marilyn Monroe and Joe DiMaggio frequently snuck away to). We wanted something a little retro but still a little glamorous. The ghost chairs and sequin linens helped us bring in some sparkle, while the striped runners and vibrant florals helped with a mod-wow factor. We kept the emerald green and black/white stripes throughout the design (invitations, welcome boxes, bouquet ribbons, etc) and through the event.

Guests found were guided to their seats at an over-sized board and found their names painted on each champagne flute at the table. The vintage furniture from Found really helped give a blast from the past out in the garden. And that bar with the heart marquee!!! The next day the couple hosted a pool party and kept the stripes but added some flamingos (what is Palm Springs without some lawn birds, right?!).
