Rainy Wedding Day Turned Day After Session
Today’s feature is a special treat — sort of a real wedding and a styled shoot in one, you could say. An unexpected rain came through on this couple’s wedding day, meaning they had to move everything inside. Since that wasn’t the original vision they had for their most special occasion, they opted to have a wedding shoot the day after where they could get all the shots they had hoped for the day before. Sterling Imageworks and Events Rental and Floral did stunning work here!
From the photographer, Sterling Imageworks: This was originally a real wedding submission but it rained on the couple’s big day (bummer I know). So, it is now a mix of their real wedding along with photos from a post-wedding session of the couple. (Same florist, same photographer, same couple, etc). I think this would be a good blog post for you guys because it can show your readers that it is NOT the end of the world if it rains and moves your outdoor ceremony inside.
I (Callie Sterling) partnered with Anna Rogers, a florist in Conway, AR to plan the post-wedding session shoot. We gathered some vintage China of her grandmothers and some decor we had around our homes and went to town. She was the total inspiration behind the florals – I just said something big that makes a statement, she made those visions come to life and then some. I think the long flowy greenery is extremely UNIQUE!!!!!! She used peaches, plums and greenery as her color inspiration behind this bouquet.
So, remember how I said it rained on the real wedding day? Well the storm paused for about 15 minutes and we got to use the large 36 inch balloons I bought for their wedding day. (I went all out for their wedding day as a photographer and then it rained so it was a huge let down — however, if it wouldn’t have rained we probably wouldn’t have done the post-wedding shoot) — everything happens for a reason right?
