You’ll Wish for Rain on Your Wedding Day After Seeing This Maine Wedding
This elegant rainy day wedding inside the beautiful William Allen Farm is the stuff dreams are made of. We are loving all of the gorgeous details from the hanging chandeliers, to the rustic barn romance, and we can’t help but get swept away. With gentle touches of rain, Emily Delamater Photography perfectly captures the love-filled looks as glowing smiles abound with the sweetest bride and groom!
From the bride, Katherine: Planning my wedding was truly so much fun. From the beginning, Tyler and I knew we wanted to be married outside, in Maine, and have our reception in a giant barn. We were beyond lucky to have stumbled upon the William Allen Farm in Pownal, Maine. A gorgeously maintained red barn on a green plot of woodsy land. Because the barn was so naturally beautiful, we didn’t want to spoil it with too much decor. Plain rustic farm tables, wooden crossbow chairs, textured clear glass goblets, white milk glass flower pedestals and light pink glass candle votives was pretty much it! For flowers it was all about seasonal whites, greens, touches of dusty blush and lots of thistle. Our wedding arbor was hand-crafted out of birch wood. It was whimsical with an asymmetric shape and filled with silverly greens, whites and bursts of blush peonies.
From the bride, Katherine: Right before I walked down the aisle the sky got really gray and it poured! At first I felt a little disappointed that it was raining, but then I began to feel just how special it was that all of our loved ones were huddled closely together to watch us get married (even if they were under umbrellas!). It was super cozy and very intimate.
From the bride, Katherine: Our food was not only absolutely delicious, but absolutely gorgeous. Mounds of fresh trimmed roasted vegetables, sweet street corn, mini Maine lobster rolls and fingerling potatoes were displayed in rustic wood crates and barrels. I loved how there were tiny flowers scattered throughout the mounds of food too. Spitfire chicken and hanger steak was cooked over a wood-fired oven in the back of a vintage Ford truck parked right outside the barn. S’more for dessert and vanilla cake with raspberry filling and almond cream frosting.
From the bride, Katherine: The hardest part was searching for the right vendors that could make this vision come to life (and not cost a total fortune)! There is a TON of talent in the wedding industry and it was overwhelming! I think the ease of planning our wedding was all because we found vendors that had quality taste and service. The gray skies on our wedding day made getting married in a red barn in Maine so memorable and so romantic!
We feel like we’re still dreaming with this dreamy winter wedding in Florida!
