Desert Sunset Soirée: A Phoenix Wedding Fiesta

Karen + Chris

Prepare to be whisked away on a whimsical journey through Karen and Chris’s swoon-worthy Arizona wedding! This fabulous fête at the Royal Palms Resort in Phoenix was a delectable blend of desert chic and Spanish Colonial charm that’ll have you saying “I do” to every detail.

From the moment guests arrived at the Spanish-inspired Royal Palms, they were transported into a world where bougainvillea blooms freely and love is always in the air. The couple’s custom crest – a cheeky nod to their bi-coastal romance – graced everything from cocktail napkins to dance floor disco balls. And speaking of the dance floor, let’s just say it was lit… literally.

Phoenix Spanish Colonial Wedding

Inspired by the rich hues of a desert sunset and the Spanish-inspired architecture of their venue, Karen and Chris shaped their Arizona wedding into a soft pink-colored story. The celebration was held at the Royal Palms Resort in Phoenix, where the Spanish Colonial Revival villa was complemented by sweeping desert landscapes and the vibrant magenta bougainvillea of the property. The couple hosted a traditional Catholic Mass at Karen’s family church before slipping into a vintage white car for their journey to the reception. Karen wore Galia Lahav, adorned with florals and sparkling details across a corseted bodice and full tulle ballgown. Her veil, extending far beyond the train, matched the intricate embroidery of her dress. Later in the evening, she changed into a custom white velour tracksuit featuring personalized embroidery to showcase her new last name.

The evening transformed into a romantic, elegant, and whimsical night under the stars. Tablescapes combined texture and color, with neutral chairs and linens providing a soft backdrop for vibrant pink florals and berry-hued accents. Woven lanterns and bougainvillea were strung above the dining tables.

The couple also designed a custom crest that blended a palm tree to symbolize California and a cactus, representing Arizona, with their initials intertwined into a unique work of art. This crest appeared throughout their paper goods and decor. Napkins were printed in gold foil with a playful prescription design, a nod to both Karen and Chris’s shared career in medicine. Karen and Chris joined the dance party atop a light-up dance floor, set beneath a canopy of flowers and disco balls, creating the ultimate elegant party vibe.
