Pastel Wedding at Crooked Willow Farms

How can one not fall in love with this wedding from Laura Murray Photography? We were sold as soon as we saw the gorgeous wooden altar decorated with flowers and pastel-colored watercolor pinwheels. Keep an eye out for repeated pinwheel elements — mini versions even show up on the table number frames!

From the florists of Cori Cook Floral Design: Jenise and Max chose a color palate of soft pastels like robin’s egg blue, peaches, blush pinks, ivories, and butter yellows. Many of the details of the wedding were handmade with love by her talented sisters and mother. Her mother handmade the bridesmaid dresses and the flower girl dress, designed in robin’s egg blue. The groom and groomsmen wore grey tailored suits with a robins egg blue tie. Jenise’s gown was a stunning fit! It was an ivory, form-fitting lace gown with a v neck and jaw-dropping keyhole back. Handmade pinwheels designed by her crafty sister, Karleen Quakenbush, adorned walls, table numbers, the escort card display, and flower containers.

Jenise is a talented floral designer at Cori Cook Floral Design, so flowers were a priority and main focus of décor. With the colors and style in place, Jenise let us run wild with her floral décor. Lush, garden-style blooms like coral peonies, café au lait dahlias, garden roses, poppies, hydrangea, and astible were combined with wooden boxes and milkglass pedestaled containers for her centerpieces. Her arch was adorned with curly willow, florals, and water-colored pinwheels.

A value from the beginning of the wedding planning process was to create a cohesive design aesthetic starting with paperware and ending with flowers. Jenise and Max had custom save the dates and initiations designed by Paper + Ink, marrying their soft color palette with a touch of kraft paper and screen printed chevron. Details were present through the wedding including hand-stamped programs and escort cards tied in striped yellow bakers twine.

The bride and her family’s love of dance was displayed throughout the evening with a variety of choreographed routines, the best of which was a surprise to everyone: a sassy father-daughter dance including a medley of significant songs that they share together.
