Winter Hues Inspiration

“Ethereal” doesn’t even begin to cover the airy feeling of this shoot from Tinsel & Twine and Marianna Jamadi. With a focus on the unique textures found in the winter season and cool blues and whites, this is one of the more soothing styled shoots we’ve seen in a while! In case you’re eying the heavenly white skirt like we are, it was made by the photographer Marianna herself!

From the designers, Tinsel & Twine: Our team at Tinsel & Twine, in collaboration with Marianna Jamadi Photography, recently produced a photoshoot inspired by the sudden chill in the air. Focusing on raw cotton and wool textures, we created a thematic cocoon for what we lovingly called our “Natural Bride.”

Our Natural Bride is ethereal. She embodies the stillness and quiet of the season’s first snow. Her billowing layered skirt is created from lengths of creamy bed linens, well-worn cotton t-shirts, salvaged lace, and ribbon. She carries a loose bouquet of raw cotton blossoms and lightly gilded asparagus leaves tied with a wool cord. Our Bride’s mixed textures set the tone for our tablescape, which we envisioned to be her dreamlike, gold-tinged bridal luncheon.

The table is dressed in a charcoal herringbone wool and topped with centerpieces created with raw cotton and gilded asparagus leaves. Here, the richness of the brushed gold chargers, glowing votive candles, hand-scripted placecards, and gold-rimmed glassware provide a striking contrast to the organic feel of the raw cotton and purposefully imperfect arrangements. In the same vein, the accompanying save-the-date suite, with gilded hand-lettering and richly textured paper stocks, hint at the sweet contrast of natural elements and rich, slightly decadent details.
