Moody Whisky Bar Wedding Inspiration
I grew up listening to a LOT of The Doors, so you can imagine my glee when I saw that today’s styled shoot was inspired by a song from the band’s first album. Havenwood Weddings designed and provided furnishings for this beautiful scene photographed by Summer Taylor Photography, with no shortage of classic antiques and a rustic but moody atmosphere. Rocking it on floral design was Albedo Floral, who created a bouquet peppered with berries and cotton for a classic late autumn / early winter aesthetic.
From the event designers, Havenwood Weddings: The antiques in the photo shoot are all almost 100 years old and we used reclaimed pieces of wood and doors to make the arch. The inspiration for this photo shoot was from the song by The Doors, “Alabama Song (Whisky Bar),” but my theme was an Aspen Ski Lodge and a very sophisticated rustic atmosphere. I really wanted to do a fall wedding that was new and fresh and not your typical fall colors and designs.
A friend of mine owns Art City Donuts and when I saw the cinnamon and sugar flavor and the texture of it, it gave me the inspiration for the cake. It was a refreshing color palette and coordinated with the dessert bar. The Bride and Groom is actually us! My husband and I filled in at the last minute and we modeled for the shoot. We did the modeling and the designing and provided all of the rentals. We have been married 8 years with four kids and we started doing weddings to help support our family. This photo shoot definitely represents us and also our personal aesthetic. A lot of the decorations actually came straight from our home decor!
