Modern Wedding Ideas with Driftwood Details

Driftwood is one of those elements you don’t necessarily expect to see in wedding decorations, but when you do, it takes your breath away. Two of a Kind, Tory Williams, and Brita Olsen Creative recently worked together to bring us this styled wedding shoot full of soft pink flowers, ivory tones, and yes, driftwood centerpieces complemented by a birchwood chuppah for the ceremony. Everything comes together for a perfectly modern event with just enough romance!

From the decor rentals director, Two of a Kind: This inspirational shoot took place in the heart of Manhattan, New York at the prestigious 583 Park which has recently been restored and made available for private events. We could think of no better place to host this shoot! Even though it was a cold, brisk day in New York City our team of vendors stayed strong while mainly focusing on indoor scenes such as a styled ceremony table, a ceremony backdrop while also getting multiple outdoor bride/groom photos.

Our elegant bride wore two dresses from Nearly Newlywed which included a classic Monique Lhullier gown and a head-to-toe sequined Marc Jacobs dress! We love when the groom does a suit change too, which is why we featured two perfectly tailored suits by Suitable which had him looking dapper all throughout the evening. A birchwood Chuppah by Two of a Kind Rentals covered in olive branches made for a beautiful white winter ceremony backdrop. Other rental pieces seen in this shoot include natural grapewood branches placed as table centerpieces and champagne sequin tablecloths matching our gilded cakes. Also, large oversized chalkboards are scattered through the shoot with hand scripted details such as menu and dinner options. The color scheme of choice for this shoot included muted greens and soft whites which flowed strong not only in the prop rentals, but also in the flowers, bride’s dresses and custom Suitable suits.

We sprinkled our bride’s hair with a handful of paper whites while also adding them to our romantic table centerpieces that decked the venue halls. A unique bouquet of roses, chrysanthemum and paper whites by Swell botanics made for a beautiful bouquet. Personal wedding cakes by Made in Heaven Cakes serve as place cards and would be a welcome treat at any winter wedding!
