Modern Navy and Gold Wedding in Downtown LA
There’s something so fresh and calming about modern design, and we’re excited to see it done so well in today’s wedding from Mary Costa Photography, Shindig Chic, and Samantha Dapper. Lisa and Imran held their celebration at the wonderful Millwick, exchanging vows in front of a living wall and sharing laughter and delicious food amidst geometric details. Make sure you bookmark this one!
From the bride, Lisa: Our story is not one of love at first sight, but one of persistence! Imran had pursed me for over a year before I gave in to a date. We did long distance between Los Angeles to San Francisco for a year. Before I knew it, the tables had turned, and I found myself moving to Los Angeles to be with this guy. Turns out, it was the best decision of my life, and this persistent guy is now my hubby! Imran proposed in Temecula on my 30th birthday. In true Imran fashion, it was intimate and romantic — he walked me out into the vineyard, gave me my birthday card, and got down on one knee. The rest is history!
Imran and I spent many dates in downtown Los Angeles, and we knew it was the perfect location for our wedding. We also wanted something a bit more modern and chic. We found ourselves in love with Millwick — between the outdoor living wall, parrot couches and disco ball — it was the perfect vibe! Shindig chic took care of our decor and florals. They did an absolutely amazing job and kept with our modern yet elegant theme. Our decor favorites were the simple mismatched table arrangements and the stunning seating chart! Can’t say enough about the Shindig Chic team. Thanks for making our wedding so fab!
From the designers, Shindig Chic: Lisa and Imran didn’t want a wedding that felt too “wedding-y.” They knew that they loved modern decor, geometric elements, succulents, navy + gold. So we took that & ran with it. We wanted to do a bold mix of navy + gold for all of the signage to stray away from the conventional. All of the floral illustrations were done by hand & added a great embellishment to all of the pieces. Particularly with the bold seating chart frame! Millwick was the perfect setting for them. They really embraced their surroundings by choosing to bring in their own unique accents that just complemented it all so well {gold wall & all!}
