Modern Engagement Party Inspiration Shoot

This engagement party from Olivia Richards Photography and Bari Elexa is a modern minimalist dream come true, with pops of geometric accents, greenery, plus ranunculus and anemones from Colina Terui. Some bright color comes in the form of desserts, including a painted raspberry Merlot cake!

From the planner, Bari Elexa: This shoot was inspired by the current trend of neutrals + a pop of Pantone’s greenery. For this engagement party look, we wanted to create a simple yet elegant design to capture the classic style of modern day minimalism. And what better way to do so, then to use white and black dinnerware matched with a black farm table and ghost chairs. Can it get any more modern then this?

Our table was adorned with a lush garland from our florist, Colina Terui, and matched with different Anthropologie candle holders to dot around the garland. The candlelit table set a glow to the whole party and created an instantly warm environment. Lynn & Lou Paper Co designed a beautiful hand torn invitation suite with matching menus and place cards, with a simple water color design of a green sprig. To tie it all together, they used a custom gold wax seal for the icing on the cake!

The table top pieces were all mixed and matched from Anthropologie’s home collection and paired with the existing furniture at our venue, Mints & Honey. The space was a perfect fit for this minimalist shoot, with bright natural light, white walls and wood floors. We just can’t get enough of this party venue, which is a hidden gem of the Bay Area in San Carlos, CA. We created a specialty cocktail for C+S to celebrate their special day, and Pretty Please Bakeshop created a raspberry-Merlot flavored cake to match! The red was a symbol of love to piece together the meaning of the day, and a little nod to wine country, which inspired the Merlot cake.
