Modern Cinderella Inspired Wedding Ideas

Taking inspiration from Cinderella, this styled shoot is packed with beautiful blue and gold plus a bright pop of colors in the bridesmaid dresses. Love!

From the event designer, Selena Marie Events: From the magical palace that looked like the Palace of Versailles or the blue dress that was full of texture and layers, I was captivated by Disney’s Cinderella costume and production design. With its winding staircase and European architecture, The Chateau at Justin Vineyards in Paso Robles, CA was the perfect setting for this fantasy romance. I seeked a film photographer and florists who could translate my vision of a whimsical, yet elegant colorful affair that incorporated classic Cinderella details.

Cinderella is filled with so much symbolism such as the birds, clock, glass slipper, ball gown, and transformation. I chose a dusty blue dress from a Russian bridal boutique for the Bride and competing bright colors for the Bridesmaids to represent the stepsisters’ relationship with Cinderella. Moreover, the Bride wore a beautiful lavender Haley Paige dress with a beaded bodice and layers of tulle from The Dress Theory to represent her transformation. Additionally, the table setting consisted of Otis & Pearl and T&C plates and glassware, different vases, and colorful flowers to create that opulent feel of the baroque period.

To encapsulate the charming quality of Cinderella, we added our own touches like the scroll. My close friend and calligrapher of Perfect Fete, Morgan Dana-Dielman, captured the magic and essence of the film with the quote, “Have courage & be kind, for where there is kindness, there is goodness, and where there is goodness, there is magic.”
