Minimalist Bridal Editorial Shoot
Oh what a darling shoot this was, and the bridal shoot inspiration is all over the place! If you’re in the market for getting your bridals done, look no further than these pictures. Not only does Rosencrown Photography focus on the beauty of the bride in the photo, it’s hard to miss the femininity of the whole shoot. Vintage Mingle did such a wonderful job in bringing the “girly” vibe to the day while still also keeping it so classy and elegant.
From the event designer and rentals owner, Pilar of Vintage Mingle: As the owner and creative behind Vintage Mingle, I wanted to do a simple shoot where the pretty little details of a wedding are the focus. Amy of Rosencrown Photography was the perfect creative to collaborate with. Together we imagined a minimalist bridal editorial shoot with a subtle, whimsical, ethereal approach showcasing beautiful wedding gowns from The Diamond Sea Bridal collection and jewelry with raw gemstones from By Angeline. The color palette was inspired by the pantone color duo of the year (rose quartz and serenity), mixing in metal patinas of silver plate and gold, all set in an abundance of natural light with white walls and floors. A blank canvas to showcase the small details of the gowns, flowers, cakes, papers and small props.
The stunning floral installation with vintage picture frames set the tone for the shoot. The gold frames were thought of by myself (Vintage Mingle) and installed by Vanessa of Portland Bloem. The setup lends a whimsical romantical touch, with pastel flowers arranged to look like they are growing out from the gold frames. A wall of surreal paintings could be the perfect backdrop in a wedding ceremony and reception. An easy-to-do touch to add to your wedding are large white balloons and a greenery branch garland, create a chic and fun balloonscape. It was something I really wanted to include and this backdrop with the use of the pastel Pantone color combinations added a light and fun spirit to the shoot. Vanessa of Portland Bloem’s beautiful display of soft pastel flowers picked from the garden and textural greens to create something playful and surprising. As seen in the wall installation with gold frames and floral crowns. Garland branches for balloons and romantic flower arrangements add the perfect touch. The spread of delicious and beautiful cakes and chocolate covered oreos were designed and created by Country Cake Shop. Inspired by the dresses from The Diamond Sea Bridal, these cakes are the perfect pairing. Every detail was meticulously planned in keeping with the layers of tulle, ruffles from the gowns.
The models wore a variety of gowns from the Diamond Sea Bridal’s wedding collection. The dresses ranged from lace to flowy tulle in shades of light pink, lavender, and light blue. These dreses moved oh-so gracefully. I wanted the makeup to compliment the dresses. A natural dewy face, with subtle pink cheeks and a thin cat eye for playfulness. I also wanted each model to wear different hairstyles that worked cohesively in a bridal party; from halfway updo, a side swept loose bun, and a middle part low updo. All models wore flower crowns paired specifically with their hairstyles in order to carry that classic romantic look.
