Mid-Century Modern Wedding With Hanging Tassel Garlands
What’s teal and pink and coral all over? This mid-century modern wedding inspiration with tassel garlands of course! Paige Vaughn Photo totally immerses you in the colorful loft wedding story from the start with expertly styled flatlays of the unique paper goods, inspiring detail shots from ceremony to tablescape and newlywed portraits that can’t help but touch your heart. It was Kailee of Pearl Events Austin who brought all these dynamic design details to life. I mean, seriously, how cool is that velvet teal dining vignette and floralized ladder backdrop from Love Lily Flowers?! There’s nothing we love more than a modern romantic wedding story, and soon you’ll see why!
From the Photographer, Paige Vaughn Photo: From the very beginning of conceptualizing this shoot, we knew we wanted to highlight a diverse real couple who’s own wedding day photos were derailed because of torrential rain storms (though they didn’t let that get them down!!), we also knew we wanted to break the trend of neutrals and minimalism by tastefully incorporating a colorful muted palette that was tastefully fun without taking attention away from the actual humans.
So often couples feel like they need to commit to a vibe that reflects the season they’re getting married, but by opting for something more unique, you can easily transition your wedding design to different seasons, which is ESPECIALLY important with the constant reschedules happening during a pandemic. (No one wants to see those standard fall wedding colors like maroon and dark green at a springtime wedding!)
The venue, One Eleven East, consistently sees more minimalist designs with very little being added to the space, but from a design perspective, this venue screamed BLANK CANVAS and we took advantage of the skylight room’s unique architecture features (like the skylight) by adding an incredible hanging installation – MUCH cheaper than hanging florals and in my humble opinion: SO MUCH MORE FUN!
As for the details – our paper suite by Peach Paper & Design shows you can have a formal invitation that is fun AND how to translate the wedding’s “branding” across all facets of the day, including these DARLING tassel menu/name card combo AND an epic welcome sign set up that repurposes the ceremony florals (again – doing more with less).
Fun couples need fun details, making these disco-esque pumps from Jeffrey Campbell and unique geometric earrings from Kendra Scott a huge hit.
Long live the mid-century modern wedding style! And the citrus color palette we’re seeing so much in flowers these days, for that matter. Drop your favorite detail from this inspiration in the comments below!
